1. United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine
Project «Development and commercialization of bioenergy technologies in the
municipal sector in Ukraine»
«Carrying out of comprehensive analysis of the biomass boiler
market in Ukraine
(identification of development trends)»
2. Field of analysis – biofuel boilers market, boilers production and consumption.
The period of analysis – 2012-2015 and prospects of development till 2030.
Framework of analysis – the whole territory of Ukraine, except temporarily occupied territories.
The direction of analysis – research the open market of manufacturers, goods and their competitiveness.
In this study, the heat supply market includes district heating system, individual heating system of budgetary
institutions and organizations of state, communal and private ownership, where there are sources of heat
production from biomass that used to ensure the heat needs of both its own and third-party customers - heating
and hot water supply.
Biomass is biologically renewable organic matter as the products, waste and residues of forestry and agriculture
(firewood, sawdust, wood chips, straw, husks including in the form of pellets and briquettes). In this study, peat and
products based on it, and mixtures of biomass with fossil fuels including organic portion of solid waste are not
biomass.
