This document provides information on three songs and ideas for music videos for each. For the song "Anna Sun" by Walk The Moon, it suggests dressing casually and authentically, following the main artist throughout, and using variety of shots. For "Its Time" by Imagine Dragons, it recommends showing emotion in singing to convey soulfulness and passion, with close-ups of the main artist. For "Wonderwall" by Oasis, it proposes focusing on instruments in many shots and having variety to show lip syncing and singing.
2. Song 1- Anna Sun by Walk The Moon
Walk the Moon is an American rock band From Cincinnati, Ohio. The band
was started by lead singer Nicholas Petricca in 2006, taking the name from
The Police song “Walking on the Moon”. The band currently has 3 studio
albums and 1 live album.
The band’s current members are
Nicholas Petricca, Kevin Ray, Sean Waugaman, and Eli Maiman.
Genre: Indie Pop, new wave.
USP of Anna Sun:
Authentic
Casual
Funky/Quirky
Weird/Unusual
My ideas:
- Dress quite casual and authentic.
- Follow the main artist throughout the whole video.
- Use variety of shots to show having fun/being unusual.
3. Song 2- Its Time by Imagine Dragons
Though they have been active since 2008, Imagine Dragons gained
national attention with their 2012 album Night Visions. Since then, the
band has continued their success with the release of Smoke + Mirrors in
2015, which topped the Billboard 200 and the UK albums chart. Night
Visions achieved similar success, claiming 2nd position on the Billboard
200.
Band members: Dan Reynolds
Ben McKee
Wayne Sermon “Wing”
Daniel Platzman
Usp: Soulful, team/togetherness, passionate.
My ideas:
- Show a lot of emotion with singing, to show that
soulfulness and heart.
- Have a focus on the main artist, have close ups to
emphasise his passion for singing.
4. Song 3- Wonderwall by Oasis
One of the most decorated artists of the 1990’s, for the
best part of two decades Oasis were an instantly
recognisable part of British culture and a key cog in the
all-conquering machine that was the Cool Britannia
movement.
Genres: Rock music, Britpop.
USP: Quirky, decorative.
My ideas:
Focus on the instruments with a lot of the shots, and
have shots of the whole band, and not just the singer.
Have variety of shots to show the lip syncing and the
singer singing.
