EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Bar Tender, Metro Inns (Suffolk)
Masons Arms, Bury St Edmunds May 2015 – Present day
General Manager, Metro Inns (Suffolk)
The Maids Head, Kings Lynn September 2014 – May 2015
In this position, it was my responsibility to ensure the smooth running of a recently acquired, large
town pub in a new demographic area for the company. It successfully ran as a music venue until the
end of December 2014.
In January 2015, the entire business was closed for a £250,000 refit; undergoing a complete brand
restructure as a real Ale, casual dining pub with seating for up to 125 covers and an outside area.
My input was pivotal during these planning and development stages.
Upon opening, my role as General Manager was multi faceted and involved (but was not restricted to):
• Full responsibility for the daily running of the business, finances and team
• Maintaining high levels of customer care, staff training and product quality
• Clerical and reporting duties: Banking, rotas, legal paperwork, wages etc
• Orchestrating meetings with both in-house and outside organisations
• Ensure stock levels were sustained
• Developing, implementing and adjusting procedures where necessary
• Oversee all health and safety processes
Unfortunately, the climate of this market dictated that significant changes had to be made to the
business model and I felt it necessary to accept redundancy from the position in order to allow for its
overall success without compromising on my passion for quality and consistency.

to raise, with my other team members, £4000 and get my fitness level up to be able to cope with the
difficult terrain we would be trekking in. For two weeks we trekked through the country, staying in local
villages. During the third week we helped build a school for local children. During this time I was team
leader for two days when I had to delegate jobs to members of my team ensuring everyone was
involved in each stage of the project. I thoroughly enjoyed this and it helped nurture a mature and
