Week three ended with a flurry of snow and icy temperatures The staff had a
great day learning “how to create students into learners for themselves through
inquiry and wonderings. This might sound a bit airy, however, it is about devel-
oping skills within students so they know how to be independent learners in
their future. Staff are now work on developing their pedagogy to incorporate
these strategies.
The staff are starting to see some fantastic results with the group of students
who have been working with Mrs Watt on developing their writing. See sepa-
rate sheet for their stories from Olympia, and Cameron Dovey. We are beam-
ing with excitement of the progress that the students have made. Well done
Word Wizards and Mrs Watt.
CHANGE OF CELLPHONE NUMBERS - in the past two weeks, when staff
have tried to contact parents urgently (re sickness) we have been unable to
make contact with a lot of parents and/or the second port of call contacts. Can
you please fill out the enclosed form if your contact and emergency contact
people details have changed. This is really important as some students have
been very sick and needed to go home.
MOFFETT CUP - good luck to all our teams participating in the Moffett cup to-
morrow if it is on.
A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO THE PARENTS WHO HAVE HELPED OUT
WITH COACHING OR TRANSPORT. WITHOUT YOUR HELP WE CAN’T
PARTICIPATE IN ALL THAT WE WOULD LIKE.
MOVE AND IMPROVE - Hopefully this will start this week. This a Sport South-
land Programme that the school is part of for teaching Year 1’s and 2’s about
balance through gymnastics. Students will be going down to the Tisbury Hall
for this on a Thursday.
Please check dates that are diaried so you are well informed about what is
coming up.

come compulsory in 2015 for years 5 down, and 2016 for all students - this in-
cludes a sunhat.
