Managing Self
Value : Integrity
Meaning:
―Doing the right thing at
the right time, even when
no one is looking!‖
.Kia Ora, Talofa and Hi to the end of week seven.
During the last few weeks, under the heading of “Keeping Safe”, students
have had experts in discussing ways and avenues of keeping themselves
safe. Topics covered have been Road Safety, Fire Safety and Personal
Safety and next week for the senior students, cyber safety. Within the Per-
sonal Safety area, Constable Lohrey, discussed such topics as “good” vs
“bad” touching and how comfortable students feel around others. The Per-
sonal Safety component has not been the full “Keeping Ourselves Safe” pro-
gramme - only components of the programme have been used to build on the
total theme of “Keeping Safe - in all aspects of life”. If your child has raised
any issues or concerns, please talk to your classroom teacher or myself.
Swimming is not too far away - many thanks for the responses on your child’s
swimming ability. This helps us to organise our groups - especially if your
child has joined a swimming club or has attended swimming lessons.
A slight change this year - we have one set time for swimming which has
been extended to three weeks. The main factor for change has been the time
constraints of Term 4 - especially with our Education Outside the Classroom
Programme (ie camps) and 2) Term 4 always being so short.
Swimming Reminders: Buses leave sharp at 8:45am from school.
Meeting us at Splash Palace - please let the school know
Swimming Goggles - make a difference in build-
ing confidence to put heads under water.
If Students aren’t swimming - a note must be
placed in their communication book or phone
call to the office.
If student forget togs - we will hire them at the
pool - and cost placed on school account.
Please Be Vigilant of Our School - just a note of help - if you are driving
past and see anything unusual or out of place - please contact the school.
We have been advised that schools are being targeted for burglaries - specif-
ically targeting computers and ipads.
School Classroom Blogs - check these out through the school’s blog page -
staff and students are working to update these on a regular basis.
Board Meeting Next week - which will be reviewing Policy No.2 NAG 2 - Dele-
gation to the Principal.
Have a great fortnight

―What,‖ said the
young man, ―Is the
difference between
wisdom and
knowledge?‖ ―Well,‖
came the reply from
his elder. ―Knowledge
is knowing that a
tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom, on the other
hand is knowing that
you do not put it in a
fruit salad.‖
