2. Day 1-3
+ I'm spending the first few days of
production working on my logo. I have
already started on it, however the
screenshots are on my Mac at college,
so I am currently unable to locate them.
I can however still walkthrough how I
did each step. I started by creating the
blue background by using the fill tool
then after this, I went to the shape tool
and chose a rectangle shape, I then
drew it and put it at the bottom of my
logo, and I did this so I could put tagline
underneath it.
3. + Following this, I started to look for images for my
logo to catch the viewers eye as well as to them
visual clues as to what my podcast would be about.
To start with, I decided to look for images of cherry
blossom trees, as the blossoms are found in all
aspects of aspects of Japanese culture, from film to
poetry and even paintings. They also represent the
fragility and transience of life.
+ After this I looked up artistique images of images of
mount fuji as it is considered the symbol of Japan
as it is regarded as a sacred kami or spirit in
the Shinto religion, specifically that of Princess
Konohanasakuya-hime and that climbing its slopes
is considered an act of pilgrimage for followers of
that faith.
4. + Then I moved onto writing the title of my
podcast and since the topic is about folk
tales from Japan I decided to use a name
that either meant "fairy tale" or "folk tale" in
Japanese and I created a list and I narrowed
it down to just one name which was
"Monogatari" which means "tale" in
Japanese. After I picked the title font which is
havon light which I did all in in capital letters
as the audience will be able to see it.
+ Finally, I created a tagline for my podcast,
saying that the podcast I used a font
called "Glacial Indifference" and made it
bold so that viewer could see it
5. Day 4
+ For day 4 I spent the day recording. It proved
to be easy as I only had one voice performer,
so I had to both act and record my podcast.
This also meant I had to record my lines from
my script and I had to record it multiple times
because I made mispronunciations of the
characters names as some Japanese names
are incredibly hard to say. But after making
some changes to my script I could pronounce
the names without making any mistakes.
6. Day 5
+ For day 5 I added in the podcast
recordings, and I put a voice filter
over the recordings called "Podcast"
to make my recordings sound
professional and sound like its being
recorded for a podcast.
7. Day 6
+ For day 6 I added in the background
music to make the podcast sound
more authentic professional and to
transport my listener into the world I
am trying to create.
