WHAT IS PETS LIFELINE?
Pets Lifeline is an independent
nonprofit organization
dedicated to improving the
lives of cats and dogs in need
throughout Sonoma Valley.
Founded in 1982 by a group
of passionate volunteers,
Pets Lifeline plays a pivotal
role in the community, for
people and animals alike.
We pride ourselves in being
able to provide a safe haven
and a chance for a better
life for all the animals that
make their way through our
shelter doors.

As the only safety net for companion animals in
all of Sonoma Valley, Pets Lifeline fills a vital role
in our community.
Pets Lifeline:
• Provides shelter, love, and medical care for stray
and abandoned cats and dogs
• Finds forever homes for homeless pets
• Reunites owners with their lost pets
• Offers Low-Cost Spay/Neuter and animal
wellness services
• Teaches children the importance of demonstrating
compassion for all living things through our
extensive humane education programming
• Helps reduce the number of owner surrenders
by offering affordable, small group dog training
programs and individual consultations with a
certified animal behaviorist

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
With a growing staff of professionals and more than
250 active volunteers, Pets Lifeline is having a positive
impact in our community. Recently, Pets Lifeline
has helped:
• 426 animals find shelter when they needed it most
• 316 homeless animals get adopted into loving homes
• 558 animals get spayed or neutered
• 79 lost or stray animals return to their homes
• 71 feral cats get spayed or neutered and returned
to their colony
• 375 animals receive microchip ID’s, ensuring they
will always find their way home
• 425 young children deepen their love and compassion
for all living things through their participation in our
Humane Education programs
