Introduction-
It wasn't that long ago that Tina Garret and Matt Venaleck recognized the immediate need for a sincere
horse rescue.
In 2010, they poured their passion into what has now become Southwest Florida Horse Rescue a
registered non-profit organization.
In just 5 years, they have saved the lives of over 100 local horses. Even more extraordinary, Matt and
Tina personally funded and operated the rescue while working their full time jobs. In addition to the
myriads of daily demands, they continually host monthly fundraisers to help off-set the mounting
operating costs of feed, veterinary and farrier care. To this day, Matt and Tina (Southwest Florida Horse
Rescue) have no paid employees and are grateful for the growing community of volunteers and
contributions. Not only does the Southwest Florida Horse Rescue benefit, but so many of the volunteers
have found a sanctuary that touches their own hearts. It is incredibly fulfilling to watch horses, who come
in broken and scared, begin to thrive as a result of everyone's contributions. One of the best parts of this
volunteer community is that it enables the organization to put forth all raised funds directly towards the
rescue horses. By putting the horses first and having a community who backs them up, Southwest Florida
Horse Rescue can focus on their reputation of integrity, caring and success.
As you can imagine, new volunteers and contributions are always welcome! There is always an
opportunity to help the horses thrive and get ready for their forever homes. To be a part of this amazing
team, you can contact...
