VERTICAL SHAFT AND FLOATING BUOY.
THE BUOY OSCILLATES UNDER THE WAVE EXCITATION, AND THE
BIDIRECTIONAL MOTION OF THE BUOY IS CONVERTED INTO UNIDIRECTIONAL
ROTATION OF THE GENERATOR THROUGH MMR .
THE HARVESTED ENERGY CAN BE STORED IN BATTERY OR TRANSFERRED TO
GRID. A FLY WHEEL CAN BE READILY INTEGRATED INTO THIS SYSTEM AS WELL ,

THIS PPT IS ABOUT PRELIMINARY STUDY OF SINGLE BUOY WAVE ENERGY
CONVERTER WITH MECHANICAL MOTION RECTIFIER BASED ON POWER
TAKEOFF SYSTEM.
THE PROTOTYPE WITH 1.2 m BUOY WAS DESIGNED AND FABRICATED BASED ON
THIS CONCEPT.
A STUDY OF SINGLE BUOY SYSTEM SHOWED THAT THE MMR BASED PTO
SYSTEM CAN EXTRACTED MORE POWER THAN LINEAR PTO SYSTEM.
IT CAPTURED 205 W POWER IN THE OCEAN TESTING.
