2. Physical security is broadly classified into two categories outside premises and inside premises of physical equipment
for creating an barrier for any threat. Some of these physical equipment can be connected to access control system for
providing access. Integration with ACS helps to identify unauthorised access.
Depending upon risk level of premises and region physical security equipment's are selected accordingly.
Main purpose of physical security barriers is to prevent and delay any attacks. Every physical security products
available and discussed in coming slide have different application an usage, depending upon usage pattern and

4. Boom Barrier is a bar/pole pivoted to allow the boom to block vehicular access. Depending upon security level boom
barriers are mainly classified into 2 categories
1. Non Crash Rated Boom barrier
2. Crash Rated Boom Barrier
Boom barriers are generally found in a toll plaza, parking entry exit and restricted entry location.
Operation point of view boom barrier can be operated using push button, remote, RFID Tags or Readers and loop
detectors.
According to operation mechanism of boom barrier its mainly classified into.

5. Bollards
Bollards are suitable for high security and traffic control, bollards comes in below range of operations.
1. Fully Automatic Bollards
Fully Automatic bollards operates either pneumatically and hydraulically, takes 2 sec to reach fully raised position.
Used in a location of high volume traffic .Crash rated bollards comes with K4,K8 and K12 ratings, depending upon
security level either of the crash rating is selected.
Human and vehicle safety by integrating photo sensors and loop detectors is always in place.
2. Semi Automatic Bollards
Semi automatic bollards contains an gas filled piston which raises bollards and lock it into an position by key and for
lowering down the bollards again key is inserted to release lock and pressure is applied from top and when bollard is
full lowered its get locked into its position. These are suitable for very less movement
of traffic.
3. Fixed Bollards

8. Road blocker provides highest level of security and mainly used where complete lane protection is required.

manually in case of power failure and also using remote control and push button.
Road blocker operation can be integrated with License plate recognition and also with an Card based reader for
access.
