O's" and "Cap'n McCains", using names
of presidential candidates, Barrack
Obama and John McCain.
In 2008, Joe joined Airbnb and in this
year, they opened several offices in
Europe.
5. ABOUTAirbnb
Airbnb is an online
marketplace which helps people
in renting out accommodations.
Airbnb is more preferred to
other sites because it offers
much cheaper accommodations
prices in prime locations, which
costs much more without it.
Airbnb's other two co-founders
are Nathan and Joe Gebbia.
Airbnb has 800,000 properties
in 34,000 cities across 90
different countries.
6. PHILANTHROPY
Brian was impressed by Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, who at that time
pledged to give majority of their wealth as donation.
Brian, like them, believed in the success of students. He wanted for
others what he didn't had for himself. He wanted students to flourish
and always said,
"With this pledge, I want to help more kids realize the kind of journey I
have had. I want to show them that their dreams are not bounded by
what they can see in front of them. Their limits are not so limited. Walt
Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” I would like to
help them dream.”
7. MANAGEMENTSTYLE
Starting from nothing.
Accepting change.
Humility and willingness to guide others.
Focus on community empowerment.
Don't hesitate to take advice from others.
