LO- Aspects in life orientation

1. What is Life Orientation?
It is the study of the self and others. It
addresses skills , knowledge and values
about the self. It focuses on the holistic
development of the learner in general.

2. What I will be focusing on:

Here in I will be focusing on the overall aspects
relating to Liife oreintation: To show HOLISTIC
DEVELOMENT OF ALL LEARNERS:
• HUMAN RIGHTS(Rights and Responsibilities)
• Preventing Bullying
• Physical education
• The constitution and democracy

3. Human Rights
• Definition of Human Rights:
• The basic rights and freedoms to which all
human beings are entitled to, Often held to
include the right to life and liberty,freedom of
thought and expression etc.
• Human rights are found in the bill of rights
• They include the following rights, like privacy,
clothing, health care, food and the right to
education etc.

5. Preventing Bullying
• What is bullying?
• It is the systematic and chronically inflictive physical hurt or
psychological distress on one more learners in the school
• Bullying Includes:
• Unwanted teasing , physical violence , public humiliation,
theft etc.
• Bullying affect learning, Students only fully reach their
optimal levels if they feel secluded and safe.
• 17% students from grade 6-10,23% grades 4-6.
• Teachers should get involved , have conflict resolution
strategies, mediate between these learners etc.

What is Physical education?
It is moving how to learn and learning how to
move.
• Benefits include
• Helps developing the risks of obesity
• May help students academic performance
• Helps build and maintain bone and muscles

values, social justice and fundamental rights.
• It provides us with a democracy:
• Democracy liberates us in the form of rights
and social justice
• Some rights are the right to life , education,
