2. PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Hazardous area, such as coal mines are below the earth surface. Below certain
level there are dangerous and flammable gases. Unavailability of any mobile
Network makes such area black spot for communication.
Poor information about air quality and gases may lead to severe problem to a
miner. Even death conditions are also predicated if these harmful gases are
inhaled by the miner just due to lack of information.
3. OBJECTIVE:
1. To monitor and help workers to warn about toxic gas conditions.
2. To develop a system that helps miner life and adds quality to the
whole mining industry .
3. To provide Long Distance Communication Range for data
transmission.

4. LITERATURE SURVEY

5. CENTRE PIVOT IRRIGATION SYSTEM USING ARDUINO [1]
Centre pivot irrigation is a method of crop irrigation in which the rotating arm is allowed to rotate a
circular path having attached a variety of sprinklers used in between the rotating arm and at the end of
the arms respectively. However, the bot would not to able to cover the unreachable areas manually and
automatically, will also trouble manpower and already many upgradations are done in this project.
6. RF CONTROLLED BEACH CLEANER ROBOTIC VEHICLE [2]
1. RF Controlled Garbage Cleaners can be a big relief for the task of cleaning garbage from the places like
beach.
2. The system is driven by a microcontroller powered circuitry PCB. Another PCB consists of directional
push buttons used to transmit directional commands through rf. The receiver circuit receives these
commands and the microprocessor processes these commands to drive the motors as well as the lifter
mechanism motor accordingly. The lifter mechanism consists of a chain sprocket arrangement to drive
the garbage lifter. These three electrical motors can we wirelessly driven by a Radio Frequency based
Remote control.
3. Due to its less application area, feasibility, maintenance and cost this could not match our needs.
7. DETECTION OF TOXIC GASES USING ARDUINO AND GSM
NETWORK [3]
1. Objective of this project was to detect the toxic gases while cleaning the drainage. GSM formulates
specifications for a pan-European mobile cellular radio system operating at 900 MHz.
2. The sensor signal sends to the microcontroller through input ports and it should take the action by
warning through the alarm indication and also sends the warning message to the registered mobile
number. The signal which alert the users to make sufficient emergency actions and also get out the
workers from the drainage.
3. Hence this system will helps the labors in the sufficient manner and it protect from the deaths and
reduce the manpower in drainage cleaning.
4. However, this is GSM based so comparatively very outdated to the technology which we are using now.
8. WHY LO-RA ? [4]
• Bluetooth module available Such as HC-05 provided limited range up to 9 meters and found to be slow
while operating.
• One of the most common reason is its hanging problem once hanged need to be reset by turning on
and off the power supply.
• LoRa is trending in communication sector since it overcomes many problems over Bluetooth module.
• Wi-Fi module such as ESP8266 provide the range of 50 meters so we preferred Lora again.
• LoRa module are very Versatile to use and almost provide an accurate result.
9. THEME OF PROJECT
1. LoRa-based IoT system for Remote Safety monitoring.
2. Its span is close to 15 km Coverage at residential areas.
3. The purpose of a smart Long-Range is for establishing an remote monitor to
data of sensor placed in such area which are black spot for network and can
also be hazardous.
10. THEME OF PROJECT[5]
4. LoRa that provide an wireless network up to certain range. We’ll be requiring
2 Lo-Ra because one will be the transmitter and the other will be receiver. Also
in this range using an another LoRa that receive and again retransmit the same
data resulting in doubling the range of communication. Adding Lora
repeaters multiply the range of communication. In such way routing sensor
data till area where GPRS Packets(2G or 3G) are available and then upload
the data to cloud. This can turn any black spot for communication reach to
cloud storage.
5. Parameters like CO2, (MG811 and MQ-8 they are the sensor used to detect
carbon dioxide ), temperature( LM-35) Methane, and many more parameters
and toxic gases can be detected and displayed on LCD screen.
