3. FOUR MONTHS OF TRAINING
• The purpose of industrial training is to expose Degree students to the world of work so that they can relate
theoretical knowledge with application in industry. From the Industrial Training Program, the students will also
develop skills in work ethics, communication, practical and theory. Furthermore, this Industrial Exposure
Program will establish close relationship between the Industry and Degree.
• 4 months period is the most suitable duration period for industrial training because it has enough time to
maximize the learning process.
• Training Duration:
10th December 2016 to 10th April 2017

• Cox & Kings is a Public limited company that has a reputation of being the oldest in business as tour operator and provider
of numerous other services. The company was launched in the year 1758 by its founder Richard Cox and has it’s
headquartered base in Mumbai in India. It has targeted individuals and groups looking for both domestic and international
travel as its clients. Cox & Kings is a single stop portal for several travel products and related services.
• Cox & Kings is a well-established education and travel group and their operation are spread all over the world in four
continents and include twenty-two countries. The company has subsidiaries in several countries like New Zealand, Australia,
Singapore, Japan, UAE, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. In India, Cox & Kings conducts its
distribution policy for services and products through two hundred and forty-one presence points.
• Its operations cover nearly one hundred and forty-nine cities and the company has opened twelve branches that serve as
sales offices. As part of its distribution network it also has eighty-sixed agents and one hundred and forty-three franchise
network that work as sales shops.
• Pricing policy for a company related to tourism is very important as it is dependent on the type of customers the company is
targeting and also on services which it will be providing. Cox & Kings realises this aspect and has created a value-added
pricing policy that offers best products, qualitative services at reasonable prices.
10. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
• C&K, an official travel partner of “Make-A-Wish Foundation (MAWF) of India”, assists MAWF in granting wishes
of children with life threatening diseases.
• C & K contributes towards the activities of “Magic Bus Foundation” which works for the development of
underprivileged children.
• C&K employees participated in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2011 with “Om Creations Trust” as
our Charity.
• C&K Mumbai & Delhi employees took part in an initiative conducted by “Cankids-Kidscan” , an organization
which works with children suffering from cancer .
• C&K has had a long standing relationship with the “Cancer Patients Aid Association”.

• It was a great experience for working with COX & KINGS Ltd which is 250 years old company in the field of Tourism. Cox &
kings has teaches me how to handle the customers in this filed at all types of work it can be during inquiries, during cell
calls etc, Cox & Kings has helped me out on all this circumstances.
• What I have learned over here during this Training:
• How to handle customer when they come to your office for inquiry of packages.
• How to handle customer when you visit them for cell calls.
• How to booked the tour (Group, Individual Tour).
• How to fill the visa forms.
• And all the other works done in the office help me out.
• It was an honour to be a part of this organization for 4 months, here I got a chance to understand the work style of this old
organization who is giving such an excellent service in Tourism Field since last 250 years.
