1. HOW TO COMPETE IN
TEXATA 2017 ROUND 1
USING HACKER RANK
Competitors are encouraged to read these instructions carefully.
2. 24 hours prior to Round 1 you will receive an email with a
unique link to the TEXATA Round.
To access the challenge, follow the link.
Preparing for TEXATA
1. Before you start TEXATA Round 1, familiarize yourself with the TEXATA 2017 Preparation Guide. Review this information carefully.
2. You have 4 hour to complete the Round 1 online contest starting at 10am Austin, Texas time Saturday September 30th, 2017 (check your local time)
3. Round 1 structured as follows:
Questions 1-40 Section A: Big Data Theory
Questions 41-61 Section B: Case Study
4. Log in at the start of the Round. You will NOT be able to start the test part way through the Round. We recommend you go to the login page 5 minutes before the
start of Round 1.
Starting TEXATA
1. You can work through the Sections in any order you prefer.
2. Download the Case Study Data file located at the beginning of Section B
3. Answer as many questions as possible during the 4 hours permitted
4. If you have any technical problems during Round 1, email info@texata.com

4. Work through the questions listed. You can edit your
answers or return to the menu at any time.
Keep an eye on your time remaining.
5. To submit your work, click ‘I am done with the test’. If you
experience any problems during Round 1 you can close
your browser and log in to the challenge again.
