 Store house of knowledge.
 Book-library-education
 A library is a collection of sources of information
and similar resources, made accessible to a defined
community for reference or borrowing.
 It provides physical or digital access to material, and
may be a physical building or room, or a virtual
space, or both.
 A library's collection can include books,
periodicals,manuscript,films,print
documents,microform,CDs,cassettes, videotapes,blu
ray discs,e.books,audiobooks, database and other
formats.

8. LIBRARY ACT
 Tamil Nadu Public Libraries Act, was enacted
in Madras State, India, in 1948.
 The Connemara Public Library became the first
library to come under the purview of this act, as a
"State central library".
 Nine district libraries were added during the Five
year plan from 1951.The act was enacted based on
research and activity by S. R. Ranganathan and
the Madras Library Association.

17. Public libraries:
 Public libraries serve communities of all sizes and types.
 Public libraries serve the general public, "from cradle to
grave”
 They often have departments that focus on areas of service,
such as youth, teens and adults.

18.  Academic libraries serve at Colleges and Universities.
 Larger institutions may have several libraries on their
campuses dedicated to serving particular schools such
as law and science libraries.
 Academic librarians become specialists in an area of
knowledge and can have faculty status

military, private business and the Government.

Private library
 A private library is a library under the care of private ownership, as
compared to that of a public institution, and is usually only established for
the use of a small number of people, or even a single person.

 A digital library is a special library with a focused collection of digital
objects that can include text, visual material, audio material, video
material, stored as electronic media formats (as opposed to print,
microform, or other media), along with means for organizing, storing, and
retrieving the files and media .
Virtual Library
 A Virtual Library is a collection of resources available on one or more
computer systems, where a single interface or entry point to the collections
is provided.

 E-Library is one of the most comprehensive collections of engaging
supplemental digital content for public libraries and K12 schools. In
addition to hundreds of full text and full run journals and newspapers,
 E-Library offers millions of the best images, maps, websites and videos to
support today's classrooms.
