Guide to Use device with Ubuntu10.1
Important Note: The device has been tested against Ubuntu10.1 with Linux
Kernel Version 2.6.28-generic version only.
1 Configuration
Open the terminal firstly
(The path of terminal is Applications->Accessories->Terminal)s
Configuration
Let OS known the device, please input the following command:
sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x15eb product=0x1231
Install tool
Check if you can visit Internet, if not, you can't install the basic tools. Input
the following command:
sudo apt-get install wvdial
sudo apt-get install gnome-ppp
2 Change Permission
Open “System->administration->users and groups”, select current account,
Privileges password will be shown.
Enter correct password, and update parameters as below picture:
Check item with red color:” connect to internet using a modem”, this
should be active
3 Create dialer
Run Gnome-ppp (Application->Internet->Gnome PPP). Enter Username,
Password (It is better to Remember password) and Phone number.

Click setup, on Modem tab: Select Detect, Gnome ppp will search the
modem automatic. Once the modem was found, Click close.
Switch to “Option” window, setup parameters with following picture,then
close this window
