3. How To Get There ?

Lessons I have learnt…
Keep Learning
- Do well in your exams!
- Learn stuff outside of your
domain
- Be a lifelong learner
Build Experience
- Kaggle
- Internship / Volunteering
- Networking (Meet-up,
IAPA...)
Mentoring
- Find a mentor
- Be clear about your
objectives
- Give back as well
12
Lessons I have learnt…
13
Be confident. Back yourself.
Really actively listen to people – understand motivations and needs. What value can you provide?
Be curious – always understand why?
Do not be too ridged. If a great opportunity comes along take it.
Be generous and open to learn and share knowledge. Groups, informal learning networks, and mentors.
There will be very special people in your career who champion you. Be very grateful for these people in your life and commit to pay it
forward.
If you let it work can feel like drinking from a fire hose. Stay calm, prioritise, focus, leverage the power of teams, communicate in clear,
direct and simple terms, have fun, do your most important decision making / work in the morning, work hard, recharge and repeat.
