INTRODUCTION
Career census is the exercise to count each and every student’s career ambition, so they can be
collected, analysed, grouped and worked upon through empowerment platforms that will transform
these ambitions into actualised professional careers; before or as they graduate.
It is simply the distribution of census forms (similar to questionnaires); asking students about what
career they have interest in and wish to develop. Support could come in various forms like; mere
updates(emails, sms , media chat) on their career opportunities , vacancy alerts; could also be inform
of interactive sessions with mentors, career events, trainings, seminars, workshops, students’
subsidized packages, career qualification courses and so on..
Support cannot be properly planned and delivered if the number of students interested in each
career ambition is not known and quantified for empowerment, according to its “frequency”. This
is the purpose of this census.
This innovative move was necessitated by the obvious and well noticed escalating rate of non-
engaged graduates with little or no expertise to be self productive. The pressure and urge to earn is
on them as they are unleashed to the labour market, so it becomes rather too late or difficult to build
their career interest and skills without afore time plans and attempts. Development of career interest
should be when students are still easily reachable, connectable to colleagues of similar interest and
actively possess their capacity building/ learning spirit.
Career census was conducted by University of Lagos Students’ Assembly (U.S.A), which is a students’
club/group with REG: DSA/14/CLUB/031; operating in UNILAG. The census forms asked for ; gender,
name or email, skill/career ambition, phone number and their yes/no/willing aspiration to farm, as
displayed below;
Img.02: Census Enumeration Form
2 | P a g e
The project supporters were ; Yaggy brand (financially contributed about 5% of the project cost with
some moral support); media supporters were Television continental(T.V.C), Unilagolodo.com , Daily
Independent newspaper, Unilag FM. They shall contribute to the publicizing of the census result. The
Lagos state Bank of Industry (B.O.I) received the project proposal before the commencement of the
exercise and shall receive the census result.
Img.03:
If career census becomes a national affair, conducted in all tertiary institutions, it can be used as a
tool for national macro-economic planning and investments. The government/society can predict
the trending of the emerging labour force/market and determine what moves to make so as to
realize its dividends.
U.S.A as a students ‘group is mainly concerned about such matters explained above, and other
derivable benefits for students from our other initiative projects/activities. Our societal impact has
to be felt by effective response and actions on students ‘matters. Our purpose and packages can
extend with the help of God, our committed/interested members, the school and outside school
bodies, concerned individuals, government and country people at large.
This report will serve the census project as a tool for soliciting, on behalf of the analysed students’
career ambitions, so effective response and productive actions on the results will begin. The
collected census forms are available for possible references.
Kindly read all contents and digest the analysis synthesized by us. #TEAM U.S.A. Thank you.

THE CENSUS EXERCISE (conducted Sept. – Oct. , 2014 academic session)
The exercise commenced by meeting with the council of faculty presidents .They were to facilitate
the distribution of the census envelops (containing census forms) to the class governors of each
department in their respective faculties. It excluded 300 and final year students from enrolling in the
enumeration because they are closer to graduation and U.S.A could not guarantee immediate full
empowerment packages before then.
Class governors were to pick the census envelopes containing the forms at their faculty association
office for their class members to fill. Every class governor was enlightened on the exercise and its
aims, through a letter attached to each envelop.
Img.04: Letter to Class Governors (attached to Census Envelops)
These class governors were to educate their class members about the movement before filling the
forms, so as to take it more serious. Class governors were to sign as they pick up the census
envelopes(R.SIGN) and also sign as they return the filled census forms (S.SIGN) as displayed below;
Img.05: Signatures of Class Governor as they pick and return Census Envelops (sample)
4 | P a g e
The box method was used in collecting the census envelops. A box was placed in the faculty
association offices, into which the sealed envelopes (containing the filled forms) were dropped by
each class governor.
Img.06: Drop Box for Returned Census Envelops
P
Certain class governors were given incentives like recharge cards, so as to notify us on their class
members’ reactions and possible questions. Some of them later turned up for membership and
interest in U.S.A societal projects.
U.S.A members were responsible for publicizing the exercise and educating students/colleagues
about the movement in their own ways. We made fliers distributed in classes, hostels, events and
around campus.

Face caps and shirts were also made. It served a lot of purpose as students and members wore
them around while the exercise was going on.

The project Publicity was not as loud as it seems, but was more of enlightenment and interaction of
U.S.A members with students. The expenses can be analysed as following;

CHALLENGES
The first and most problematic challenge was getting funds to carry out the project. We wrote
numerous proposals, but most of them were interested in seeing the exercise run first. Many
doubted the execution of it, as it was an innovation and first of its kind. We specially thank the
school’s students’ affairs unit for endorsing the project soon enough, this enhanced most of the
official arrangements.
Img.11: Endorsement of Census Exercise by School (Scanned Document)
7 | P a g e
The exercise eventually turned out successful but certain setbacks delayed the progress. Some of
the faculty presidents disagreed on the genuineness of the project, questioned our capability to
solicit and bring about the career tips & guides, trainings, career events for students, in response
to the census result if conducted. Not all of them were present at the meeting with us, this also
later posed a problem. Some were concerned about the acquisition of students’ contacts through
the project, we had to convince them that we had no intention of giving out collected data and
that we regularly update the students’ affairs on our operations.
Acquisition of the enrolled students’ contacts via this project is necessary. It is the means through
which we provide career guides & tips ,connect students of similar career ambitions via media chat,
notify them as their career opportunities (vacancies, mentors, trainings, events) arises, provide
updates on U.S.A societal operations that benefits them and also to maintain reach ability overtime
for career/job information.
During the exercise, our biggest banner plus 2 others were stolen, this affected publicity. Exams were
fast approaching and some of our members contributing to publicity/interactions were getting more
occupied with preparations. It was around this time the school also ordered us to change our
group/club name from UNILAG Empire. We thank God after all.

YES; it means they have 100% interest, ready and willing to engage in agric, while by, WILLING; means they
are unsure but interested in agric, lets grade this as 50%, and by NO; it means little or no interest in agric, this
could be due to lack of insight about the possible profits derivable from agric or non-encouraging environment,
government, policies and practices. Some do not even have any idea about the available opportunities, some
enquired but found none, so we can grade NO as 30% interest. NO RESPONSE as 10%.
Let us judge the required level of response by saying YES (100%) is 1point, WILLING (50%) as0.5 points and
NO (30%) as 0.3 points. No Response as 0.1

It shows that much of the students actually have interest in agric probably as a main or alternative career but
do not have the means and information on how to go about it. It is of reasonable importance that U.S.A as a
students’ club/group brings about “agric enlightenment programme” in response to the census results. It is
well known that youths are young, energetic and active, so should be prioritized in agric empowerment
packages from the government and non-governmental bodies.
We have series of questions to ask the government and some certain well known successful agric investors,
on how students/graduates can tap from this plentiful resource, which they know much about. The students
need to be enlightened. Nigeria is well populated, so agric products surely have increasing demands.
Are there SPECIALISED agric training programmes like AGRIC YES for us? , Can the policies favour us? , How
can we invest in the ones interested? How dependable is it? , To earn/own, how profitable is it? The robust
implementation of agricultural transformation agenda launched in 2011, designed to create a new
generation of 750,000 young farmers (Nagropreneurs)” how can the impacts be visible around us?, What is
“ Youth Employment in Agriculture Programme(YEAP) and Strategic Programme for Accelerated Agric
Growth(SPAAG)” ;doing about this?. Can we have access to the Funds for Agricultural Finance in Nigeria
(FAFIN)????? ........AGRIC INTERESTED STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW.
We take agric as the mother of all careers and also find these questions more sensitive to the government and
certain private & public bodies. U.S.A is interested in delivering whatever package enjoyable to the
students/graduates on this agric matter.
We plan bringing about an agric enlightenment programme by 2015 academic session, to educate students
on ways to access the wealth of opportunities involved in agric. All possible supports and involvement of the
government, public and private bodies, personalities, individuals, certain sectors and ministries shall be
needed and called upon.

(II) Response to Students Career Ambitions
The main essence of this exercise from the get go, is to have an approach of transforming students’
ambitions/desires and potentials into professionalised capabilities. This will increase their chances of
settling up enterprises and earning from it. This can be achieved by having knowledge of what
amount of students per career ambition to deal with and having a means of reaching out to them.
This forms the basis for embarking on the census of students’ career ambitions, so it can be acted
upon, accordingly. It can be guaranteed that, at career events, the invited personalities are actually
the ones the students want to see and learn from.
The census results show the diversity and wide variety of the students’ career ambitions. For some
faculties it shows the sharp difference between their academic fields and their futuristic ambitions.
These ambitions should be empowered and helped, to bring about; more graduates being
productively engaged and well equipped with techniques to propel the labour force in their lines of
interest.
The impact of this census project, needs to be well felt. This will increase the possibilities of extending
its benefits on a national scale.
YES!!! So How Do We Begin Empowerment, …… in response to the result??
We are currently developing our website (www.studentsassembly.com). It is through this
platform, we shall begin immediate response to the census results. Response shall be in 3 stages
illustrated on the census banners and fliers.
Img.14
 We are providing exposure by publicising the census results to the school and outside school
bodies through prints, internet, radio and T.V media. The wider the exposure, the more the
possibilities of better recognition and getting support on the ways to act upon the result.
 Immediate response shall be through career guides&tips, to be supplied on the website and
notified to students via their phone numbers/emails. Students that enrolled in the census
shall be registered on the website with respect to their career. Then we group students of
similar ambitions together so they can interact on their career matters, mentors, share ideas,
support/alert one another on challenging projects, while they receive guides&tips from us..
 BY 2015 session, various career events, talks ,trainings and sessions with mentors will be
organised in small scale(classes, surroundings, ...) and in large scale ( halls, auditorium,
theatres, ...) since we have means of inviting respective students.

CALCULATION OF “THE RESPONSE TO THE CENSUS RESULTS” BY 2015
HAVING SHOWN THE FOLLOWING:
* 75% OF THE TOTAL FREQUENCY OF ALL FACULTIES (4,549) IS MADE UP OF 45 CAREERS.
* THE REMAINING 25% IS MADE UP OF SEVERAL RARELY CHOSEN CAREERS.
*OUT OF THE 45 CAREERS, THE TOP 5 CAREERS THAT NEEDS MAJOR CAREER EVENTS BY FREQUENCIES ARE:
ENTREPRENEUR, FASHION, MUSIC, COOKING (RESTAURANEUR) and PRESENTING/O.A.P.
*OUT OF THE 45 CAREERS, 40 CAREERS NEEDS CAREER PACKAGES “OF LESS FREQUENCY”, WHILE THE REMAINING 25%
(MADE UP OF SEVERAL RARE CAREERS) NEEDS SPECIALISED CAREER PACKAGES.
*EFFECTIVE RESPONSE TO THE 45 CAREERS WOULD SERVE FREQUENCY OF 4,258 CAREER AMBITIONS, OUT OF THE
TOTAL 4,549. THE REMAINING (4258-4549) = 291 FREQUENCY OF CAREER AMBITIONS ARE MADE UP OF RARE AND
NUMEROUS CAREERS. THEY WILL BE GROUPED INTO SIMILAR CAREER FIELDS TO MAKE ABOUT 20 RARE CAREERS.
RESPONSE CALCULATION:
20 CAREER GUIDES&TIPS VIA S.M.S WILL BE SENT PER CAREER AMBITION AND FREELY VIA EMAILS
CAREER PACKAGES WILL BE IN COST FORMS OF; CAREER TRAININGS, SESSIONS WITH MENTORS, TRAINING MANUALS, SEMINARS,
WORK SHOPS, CAREER QUALIFICATION COURSES, VIDEO TRAININGS, SPECIALISED TUTORING, CAREER MATERIALS, VENUES(TO BE
HANDLED BY SCHOOL) , FACILITATORS AND OTHER RELATED COST FORMS.
AGRIC EMPOWERMENT PACKAGE WILL BE IN COST FORMS OF: AGRIC ENLIGHTENMENT PROGRAMME, AGRIC PRACTICAL MANUAL,
SESSIONS WITH AGRIC MENTORS, S.M.S AND EMAILS, FARM VISITATIONS, FACILITATORS AND OTHER RELATED COST FORMS.
QUANTIFIED RESPONSE BULLETS
TOTAL CAREER GUIDES&TIPS TO BE SENT ARE (20 X 4549) = 9098 CAREER GUIDES AND TIPS.
DOUBLE CAREER PACKAGE FOR THE TOP 5 CAREERS.
1 CAREER PACKAGE EACH FOR EACH OF THE 40 CAREERS.
½ CAREER PACKAGE FOR THE “ABOUT 20” RARE CAREERS.
AGRIC EMPOWERMENT PACKAGE EXTENT OF RESPONSE= 1 834 POINTS.
HOW WE RAISE FUNDS.
Our major means of raising funds for U.S.A societal projects is by soliciting with proposals, through
which we explain the need and analyse cost. Our members are project minded students, capable of
managing funds, budget and expenses.
Funds are highly needed for our operations. Empowerment and investment in these careers are very
necessary .This will ensure students/graduates sustainability, resourcefulness and productivity
during or after school.
As a students’ group, we also employ certain funds raising strategies using our available resources,
by reaching out to the students on behalf of a brand’s market, event, product and/or information.
We have committee of members in the various faculties who also disseminate information for
students’ benefit.
31 | P a g e
SUPPORT
It is essential to this census project that the result is acted upon. Effective response is therefore as
important as the project itself, so support is highly needed. Our website
(www.studentsaseembly.com) needs continuous development so immediate response (exposure,
orientation ...) explained earlier, can begin.
Online & S.M.S empowerment packages, agric enlightenment programme, interactions with
mentors, little career talks and training sessions, resourceful video seeing and specialised packages
for the rare ambitions, are to be provided by 2015 academic session .
Funds are needed for these things. A lot can be achieved since we know what we are working on (the
census results). Major career event and the other response packages must be provided before the
enumerated 100&200 level students graduate.
We hereby call upon the school and outside school bodies, government and non-governmental
organizations, commercial/developmental and financial institutions, corporate firms, brands and
companies, interested personalities and the general public, to support this project. It can be
perceived as a corporate social responsibility (CSR), public private partnership (PPP), economic
contribution, give away or just simply supporting the realisation of the benefits to the
students/people and society at large.
U.S.A bank account is monitored by the school’s students’ affairs authorities, so proper updates on
and fund realised, its sources, spending and expenses; are provided. Proper evidences/proofs of all
or any career package delivered in response to this census result shall be definitely provided to our
supporters and interested personalities. We guarantee the capability of U.S.A as a students’
club/group to manage this project.
Finally we can conclude on this report. U.S.A really needs to be stimulated on ‘the responses to this
result. Lagos state is well known to be the commercial epicentre of Nigeria, so if projects like this are
successfully carried out here, it will become a model for other regions to follow. This will be the
beginning of economic revolution in our own way and finance is a hub in the wheel to this
development. Thank you and God bless.

  • 3. FROM THE PRESIDENT: Oladeji Taiwo O. Firstly we thank the Most High; the pool of all knowledge, the originator of destiny and be-ing. Everything about U.S.A and its projects can be termed “goodwill”. Our school, its offices and personalities, U.S.A executives, all members (active & non-active), class governors, faculty associations & students’ groups, our mentors, outside school bodies and our interested personalities; are well thanked for welcoming the birth of U.S.A movement as a students’ club/group. We pray that U.S.A as a societal tool is well managed, for consistency and extension of its benefits in the interest of the generality of students, by commitment of our components, work-ability & reliance of our funds raising strategies to bring effective delivery and services that activate development. Ameen. JAN., 2015. ------------------------------- PRESIDENT Img. 01: U.S.A. REGISTRATION LETTER (SCANNED ORIGINAL DOCUMENT
  • 4. 1 | P a g e INTRODUCTION Career census is the exercise to count each and every student’s career ambition, so they can be collected, analysed, grouped and worked upon through empowerment platforms that will transform these ambitions into actualised professional careers; before or as they graduate. It is simply the distribution of census forms (similar to questionnaires); asking students about what career they have interest in and wish to develop. Support could come in various forms like; mere updates(emails, sms , media chat) on their career opportunities , vacancy alerts; could also be inform of interactive sessions with mentors, career events, trainings, seminars, workshops, students’ subsidized packages, career qualification courses and so on.. Support cannot be properly planned and delivered if the number of students interested in each career ambition is not known and quantified for empowerment, according to its “frequency”. This is the purpose of this census. This innovative move was necessitated by the obvious and well noticed escalating rate of non- engaged graduates with little or no expertise to be self productive. The pressure and urge to earn is on them as they are unleashed to the labour market, so it becomes rather too late or difficult to build their career interest and skills without afore time plans and attempts. Development of career interest should be when students are still easily reachable, connectable to colleagues of similar interest and actively possess their capacity building/ learning spirit. Career census was conducted by University of Lagos Students’ Assembly (U.S.A), which is a students’ club/group with REG: DSA/14/CLUB/031; operating in UNILAG. The census forms asked for ; gender, name or email, skill/career ambition, phone number and their yes/no/willing aspiration to farm, as displayed below; Img.02: Census Enumeration Form
  • 5. 2 | P a g e The project supporters were ; Yaggy brand (financially contributed about 5% of the project cost with some moral support); media supporters were Television continental(T.V.C), Unilagolodo.com , Daily Independent newspaper, Unilag FM. They shall contribute to the publicizing of the census result. The Lagos state Bank of Industry (B.O.I) received the project proposal before the commencement of the exercise and shall receive the census result. Img.03: If career census becomes a national affair, conducted in all tertiary institutions, it can be used as a tool for national macro-economic planning and investments. The government/society can predict the trending of the emerging labour force/market and determine what moves to make so as to realize its dividends. U.S.A as a students ‘group is mainly concerned about such matters explained above, and other derivable benefits for students from our other initiative projects/activities. Our societal impact has to be felt by effective response and actions on students ‘matters. Our purpose and packages can extend with the help of God, our committed/interested members, the school and outside school bodies, concerned individuals, government and country people at large. This report will serve the census project as a tool for soliciting, on behalf of the analysed students’ career ambitions, so effective response and productive actions on the results will begin. The collected census forms are available for possible references. Kindly read all contents and digest the analysis synthesized by us. #TEAM U.S.A. Thank you.
  • 6. 3 | P a g e THE CENSUS EXERCISE (conducted Sept. – Oct. , 2014 academic session) The exercise commenced by meeting with the council of faculty presidents .They were to facilitate the distribution of the census envelops (containing census forms) to the class governors of each department in their respective faculties. It excluded 300 and final year students from enrolling in the enumeration because they are closer to graduation and U.S.A could not guarantee immediate full empowerment packages before then. Class governors were to pick the census envelopes containing the forms at their faculty association office for their class members to fill. Every class governor was enlightened on the exercise and its aims, through a letter attached to each envelop. Img.04: Letter to Class Governors (attached to Census Envelops) These class governors were to educate their class members about the movement before filling the forms, so as to take it more serious. Class governors were to sign as they pick up the census envelopes(R.SIGN) and also sign as they return the filled census forms (S.SIGN) as displayed below; Img.05: Signatures of Class Governor as they pick and return Census Envelops (sample)
  • 7. 4 | P a g e The box method was used in collecting the census envelops. A box was placed in the faculty association offices, into which the sealed envelopes (containing the filled forms) were dropped by each class governor. Img.06: Drop Box for Returned Census Envelops P Certain class governors were given incentives like recharge cards, so as to notify us on their class members’ reactions and possible questions. Some of them later turned up for membership and interest in U.S.A societal projects. U.S.A members were responsible for publicizing the exercise and educating students/colleagues about the movement in their own ways. We made fliers distributed in classes, hostels, events and around campus. Img. 07: Img. 08: Class Member Filling Census Form. U.S.A MEMBERS AND EXECUTIVES PUBLICIZING CENSUS EXERCISE AND PROVIDING ENLIGHTENMENT
  • 8. 5 | P a g e Banners were made and placed at sensitive locations on campus Img. 09: Banner on Campus Banner on Campus Banner on Campus Face caps and shirts were also made. It served a lot of purpose as students and members wore them around while the exercise was going on. Img.10: Census Cap and Shirt
  • 9. 6 | P a g e The project Publicity was not as loud as it seems, but was more of enlightenment and interaction of U.S.A members with students. The expenses can be analysed as following; ^^^^^^^^^^ CENSUS EXPENSES^^^^^^^^^^ TABLE (A) 1 US dollar($)= 179.8 Naira (#) EXPENSE $ # CENSUS FORMS 167 #30 000 PUBLICITY FLIERS 195 #35 000 BANNERS 222 #40 000 SHIRTS AND CAPS 195 #35 000 CENSUS ENVELOPES 56 #10 000 COLLECTION BOXES 83 #15 000 MOBILIZING MEMBERS & GENERAL INCENTIVES 56 #10 000 OTHERS 222 #40 000 TOTAL $ 1196 #215 000 CHALLENGES The first and most problematic challenge was getting funds to carry out the project. We wrote numerous proposals, but most of them were interested in seeing the exercise run first. Many doubted the execution of it, as it was an innovation and first of its kind. We specially thank the school’s students’ affairs unit for endorsing the project soon enough, this enhanced most of the official arrangements. Img.11: Endorsement of Census Exercise by School (Scanned Document)
  • 10. 7 | P a g e The exercise eventually turned out successful but certain setbacks delayed the progress. Some of the faculty presidents disagreed on the genuineness of the project, questioned our capability to solicit and bring about the career tips & guides, trainings, career events for students, in response to the census result if conducted. Not all of them were present at the meeting with us, this also later posed a problem. Some were concerned about the acquisition of students’ contacts through the project, we had to convince them that we had no intention of giving out collected data and that we regularly update the students’ affairs on our operations. Acquisition of the enrolled students’ contacts via this project is necessary. It is the means through which we provide career guides & tips ,connect students of similar career ambitions via media chat, notify them as their career opportunities (vacancies, mentors, trainings, events) arises, provide updates on U.S.A societal operations that benefits them and also to maintain reach ability overtime for career/job information. During the exercise, our biggest banner plus 2 others were stolen, this affected publicity. Exams were fast approaching and some of our members contributing to publicity/interactions were getting more occupied with preparations. It was around this time the school also ordered us to change our group/club name from UNILAG Empire. We thank God after all. • 31. 28 | P a g e YES; it means they have 100% interest, ready and willing to engage in agric, while by, WILLING; means they are unsure but interested in agric, lets grade this as 50%, and by NO; it means little or no interest in agric, this could be due to lack of insight about the possible profits derivable from agric or non-encouraging environment, government, policies and practices. Some do not even have any idea about the available opportunities, some enquired but found none, so we can grade NO as 30% interest. NO RESPONSE as 10%. Let us judge the required level of response by saying YES (100%) is 1point, WILLING (50%) as0.5 points and NO (30%) as 0.3 points. No Response as 0.1 Calculation: TABLE M: ASPIRE TO FARM? It is of reasonable importance that U.S.A as a students’ club/group brings about “agric enlightenment programme” in response to the census results. It is well known that youths are young, energetic and active, so should be prioritized in agric empowerment packages from the government and non-governmental bodies. We have series of questions to ask the government and some certain well known successful agric investors, on how students/graduates can tap from this plentiful resource, which they know much about. The students need to be enlightened. Nigeria is well populated, so agric products surely have increasing demands. Are there SPECIALISED agric training programmes like AGRIC YES for us? , Can the policies favour us? , How can we invest in the ones interested? How dependable is it? , To earn/own, how profitable is it? The robust implementation of agricultural transformation agenda launched in 2011, designed to create a new generation of 750,000 young farmers (Nagropreneurs)” how can the impacts be visible around us?, What is “ Youth Employment in Agriculture Programme(YEAP) and Strategic Programme for Accelerated Agric Growth(SPAAG)” ;doing about this?. Can we have access to the Funds for Agricultural Finance in Nigeria (FAFIN)????? ........AGRIC INTERESTED STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW. We take agric as the mother of all careers and also find these questions more sensitive to the government and certain private & public bodies. U.S.A is interested in delivering whatever package enjoyable to the students/graduates on this agric matter. We plan bringing about an agric enlightenment programme by 2015 academic session, to educate students on ways to access the wealth of opportunities involved in agric. All possible supports and involvement of the government, public and private bodies, personalities, individuals, certain sectors and ministries shall be needed and called upon.
  • 32. 29 | P a g e (II) Response to Students Career Ambitions The main essence of this exercise from the get go, is to have an approach of transforming students’ ambitions/desires and potentials into professionalised capabilities. This will increase their chances of settling up enterprises and earning from it. This can be achieved by having knowledge of what amount of students per career ambition to deal with and having a means of reaching out to them. This forms the basis for embarking on the census of students’ career ambitions, so it can be acted upon, accordingly. It can be guaranteed that, at career events, the invited personalities are actually the ones the students want to see and learn from. The census results show the diversity and wide variety of the students’ career ambitions. For some faculties it shows the sharp difference between their academic fields and their futuristic ambitions. These ambitions should be empowered and helped, to bring about; more graduates being productively engaged and well equipped with techniques to propel the labour force in their lines of interest. The impact of this census project, needs to be well felt. This will increase the possibilities of extending its benefits on a national scale. YES!!! So How Do We Begin Empowerment, …… in response to the result?? We are currently developing our website (www.studentsassembly.com). It is through this platform, we shall begin immediate response to the census results. Response shall be in 3 stages illustrated on the census banners and fliers. Img.14  We are providing exposure by publicising the census results to the school and outside school bodies through prints, internet, radio and T.V media. The wider the exposure, the more the possibilities of better recognition and getting support on the ways to act upon the result.  Immediate response shall be through career guides&tips, to be supplied on the website and notified to students via their phone numbers/emails. Students that enrolled in the census shall be registered on the website with respect to their career. Then we group students of similar ambitions together so they can interact on their career matters, mentors, share ideas, support/alert one another on challenging projects, while they receive guides&tips from us..  BY 2015 session, various career events, talks ,trainings and sessions with mentors will be organised in small scale(classes, surroundings, ...) and in large scale ( halls, auditorium, theatres, ...) since we have means of inviting respective students.

Our major means of raising funds for U.S.A societal projects is by soliciting with proposals, through which we explain the need and analyse cost. Our members are project minded students, capable of managing funds, budget and expenses. Funds are highly needed for our operations. Empowerment and investment in these careers are very necessary .This will ensure students/graduates sustainability, resourcefulness and productivity during or after school. As a students’ group, we also employ certain funds raising strategies using our available resources, by reaching out to the students on behalf of a brand’s market, event, product and/or information. We have committee of members in the various faculties who also disseminate information for students’ benefit.
  • 34. 31 | P a g e SUPPORT It is essential to this census project that the result is acted upon. Effective response is therefore as important as the project itself, so support is highly needed. Our website (www.studentsaseembly.com) needs continuous development so immediate response (exposure, orientation ...) explained earlier, can begin. Online & S.M.S empowerment packages, agric enlightenment programme, interactions with mentors, little career talks and training sessions, resourceful video seeing and specialised packages for the rare ambitions, are to be provided by 2015 academic session . Funds are needed for these things. A lot can be achieved since we know what we are working on (the census results). Major career event and the other response packages must be provided before the enumerated 100&200 level students graduate. We hereby call upon the school and outside school bodies, government and non-governmental organizations, commercial/developmental and financial institutions, corporate firms, brands and companies, interested personalities and the general public, to support this project. It can be perceived as a corporate social responsibility (CSR), public private partnership (PPP), economic contribution, give away or just simply supporting the realisation of the benefits to the students/people and society at large. U.S.A bank account is monitored by the school’s students’ affairs authorities, so proper updates on and fund realised, its sources, spending and expenses; are provided. Proper evidences/proofs of all or any career package delivered in response to this census result shall be definitely provided to our supporters and interested personalities. We guarantee the capability of U.S.A as a students’ club/group to manage this project. Finally we can conclude on this report. U.S.A really needs to be stimulated on ‘the responses to this result. Lagos state is well known to be the commercial epicentre of Nigeria, so if projects like this are successfully carried out here, it will become a model for other regions to follow. This will be the beginning of economic revolution in our own way and finance is a hub in the wheel to this development. Thank you and God bless.
