Position: Senior Electronics Technician (Tech III)
Worked on electronic Logging While Drilling (LWD) and Measuring While Drilling
(MWD) tools used in the oil/gas drilling businesses worldwide. Electronics which
provided down hole power, gamma-temperature-resistivity-shocks-etc. data,
axial/azimuthal/radial/directional/inclination measurements for steering decisions,
seismic calibrations, data acquisition, trajectory computation, gravitational strengths,
magnetic flux density, dip angle and advanced compressional algorithms sent up hole by
signal modulation (pressure transducers) used in mud pulse signals (telemetry) for real
time data
Performed scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, calibrations, trouble shooting, removal,
repair, and replacement of defective circuits or components, testing, and qualifying
electronics with LV/HV power systems on ten different complex electronic assets used
beneath the earth while drilling that perform critical mission functions, such as:
communication, calibrating, navigation, measuring and logging while drilling
I calibrated accelerometer and magnetometer sensors and operated the calibration test
stand to provide the optimum performance and accuracy at each axis in navigational
measuring equipment (magnetic or gravity)
Accomplished data, modifications, upgrades, and testing of new engineering
technologies, in prototype stages prior to becoming commercialized
