5. The number of Blue Bikes in Aalst almost doubled in 3 years time.
Objective: Further enhance the number of Blue Bike users by
lowering the daily rate from 3,15 Euro to 1,15 Euro + invest in
communication.

6. Free-floating shared bikes don’t have a fixed storage place
and can be left anywhere in the city in between two user
sessions.
The City of Aalst decided to invest up to 30.000 Euro/year in
a partnership with a free-floating shared bikes supplier.

14. Innovative project where 15 to 20 enthousiastic volunteers in one
specific district/area agree to put aside their car for one month and test
different types of alternative sustainable transport modes, such as…

15. • Cambio is a carsharing organisation offering cars to
subscribers all over Belgium;
• Several types of cars are available 24/7 at the cambio
stations in your (Cambio) city;
• Cambio carsharing is an ideal solution for people who only
need a car from time to time.

16. • November ’17 – pilot project ‘fast expansion of Cambio network in the
outskirts of Aalst’ is approved by the council;
• Budget for 2 years and 5 extra Cambio cars;
• 333,33 Euro/shared car/month;
• OR 4000 Euro/shared car/year;
• Aim is to make the system self-supporting: The more citizens make use
of the Cambio system, the less external financing is needed → the
invested money goes back to the City.
• Cashback of 500 Euro/2000 km driven by the vehicle

17. • Locations outside the city centre are chosen by interested citizens
themselves < online questionnaire (Deadline survey: 26/03/18).
• 5 residential areas will be chosen based upon the results of the survey.
• When calculating the total cost for the City, all locations are taken together.
This means that a successful, profitable location can compensate for a less
successful one.
• Locations that lack profitability at the end of the trial period, can be removed;
• Successful locations on the other hand can be expanded with extra vehicles.
