2. IDEA 1
• Initially, an overtly pop genre video springs to mind when thinking
about a music video
• Having one girl in front of various coloured background lip-syncing to
the song
• Multiple costumes, hair and makeup changes would provide a variation
throughout the video
• For example, Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off
3. IDEA 2
• A performance based video also links to the pop genre but can also
relate to the rock genre
• Filming a group of people playing in a garage highlights the
‘underground’ music community
• I would use a pop song from a band rather than an individual artist to
allow more people to be singing
• For example, The Vamps ‘Cecilia’
4. IDEA 3
• Another idea is to have a dance routine to be the main feature of the
music video as many of target audience stated they prefer dance to be
included from my questionnaire
• Merging both the genre of pop and rock will create a creepy dance
routine
• Also underneath the performance I would want a narrative to drive the
video
• For example, Sia’s Chandelier
5. DETAILED FINAL IDEA
• I plan to have the main dancer and artist to be dressed in a tight or revealing dress to
highlight the pop genre by objectifying women
• The sub-genre of this video however will be pop rock, which links to my inspiration
artist Pink as many of her singles are included in that genre
• I will make this obvious to my audience through Mise-en-Scene as the costumes will
change from a tight pop dress to a creepy clown costume
• I will use many different camera angles similar to a pop video, including a crane,
track and Steadicam which is also frequently used in dance videos
• With editing I will focus on getting action matches of the choreography smooth, and
edit the video to make it darker for a creepy effect. Heavy editing will only occur
when the dance itself speeds up with the music, and I will parallel edit the beginning
with the clown dance to indicate what it to come
