Concept in review Taking navigation away from screens. Customisable push buttons for content on cuff of sleeve. LEDs light up to signal left and right as well as distance. Run up and down sleeve. Seen in peripheral vision. Mobile phone used to relay information to jacket. And to set up user preferences on the fly.
Changes from last week... LED display. - Percentage rather than exact distance makes for easier calculation. - More lights the closer you get (representative of a stronger signal likened to hot and cold). Vibration motor found to be to irritating and often came as a shock to users.
Changes cont. Accuracy is not entirely necessary and is difficult to implement. Starting to think about the screen design. - What is the easiest way to get user input on what they want to display - How to activate the program.
Fabric buttons Soft buttons made from neoprene and conductive fabric. More suitable for wearable tech. Easy to construct. http://www.kobakant.at/DIY/?p=48
Screen Designs
Features Users are able to control the content they want to look for. Can predefine and customise buttons.
What to do now? Currently reworking the purpose. Other Purposes? - public sensing - discovering street art in hidden places - guided tour Can use the same platform(wearable) for deployment. Focus on clothes as protection and depictions of social status.
