5. Our achievements
• Alberto Comelli: Gained a first class
honours BEng degree in Electrical &
Electronic Engineering. Now working as a
Graduate Systems Engineer at Selex ES
(part of the multinational Finmeccanica
Company) at their UK branch
• Auzzam Chowdri: Gained a first class
honours BSc degree in Computer Networks.
Now working for Fujitsu UK in their
Computing Systems division
6. Our achievements
• Andrew Millar: Gained a first class honours BSc degree
in Product Design.Set up his own company to market his
novel designs for sustainable food utensils, winning the
prestigious Royal Society of Arts (RSA) national Design
Directions Award and the contract to produce themed
trays, cups and eating utensils for the London 2012
Olympics
• Simon Waters: Gained a first class honours BEng
degree in Civil Engineering. Now working as an intern
for the Canary Wharf Contractors on the prestigious
new square mile development at 20 Fenchurch Street
(the so-called Walkie Talkie skyscraper). Simon will
return this semester to complete an MSC in Civil
Engineering at UEL before going back to the Canary
Wharf Contractors in the New Year.

• Dr Paolo Falcarin from ACE has been
awarded over €460,000 of EU funding to
lead research into developing solutions for
software protection.
• Dr Aaron Kans, author of two
internationally successful text
books, “Formal Software Development” &
“Java in Two Semesters” (the latter being
translated into Mandarin).

• Professor Alan Brimicombe has been
appointed as a specialist advisor to the
House of Lords Select Committee on Olympic
and Paralympic Legacy.
• Maria Segantini, was awarded the Gold
Medal of Italian architecture in 2012. She is
the author of numerous publications in
Architecture, and is the founder of C+S
Architects in Italy where she has worked on
several major projects.

• Professor Tony Fretton, is a top
professional architect. His practice has an
international reputation for design and
professionalism.
• Graham Ford, member of the JBM – the
accrediting body for engineering courses.
