Although it can be seen as a pro, having a low budget can be a negative
because you can’t afford the high-quality camera and equipment

COMPANY
RSY Productions are the type of production company to produce
films such as Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.
We decided to go with an independent film production company
because it would give the small stars their first big leading role without
the pressure to be perfect. It would also be a good work experience
for the smaller crew.
6. DISTRIBUTION COMPANY
Our distribution company is called 21st Century Chien, which is
based in California, USA, but take an interest in distributing British
films.

There is less pressure to make a lot of money from it because
there isn’t a lot of money to make up for it (low budget)
Elaborate campaigns aren’t needed
The films become popular at film festivals and they’re likely to get
critical acclaim
Less chance of failure

Limited marketing (e.g. billboards on buses and on the street), but
because of this, they might use the internet more to market their films
No synergous campaigns (e.g. no
toys, soundtracks, clothes, games, etc.)
Because of the limited marketing, there will be no big red carpet

COMPANY
21st Century Chien have done well in previous film festivals such as
168 Film Festival, Dances With Films and Mods & Rockers Film
Festival, where SOATG has been entered for all three.
Because of the interest in British films, the films are shown in small
independent cinemas in California (some where teenagers get a
discount), New York and Florida. For the other American states, the film
is uploaded online on the company website. In the UK, it’s shown in
independent cinemas in London, Manchester, and Belfast.
