This document provides information for parents about the upcoming school year at the Gilliam Headstart Center, including the teacher Ms. Tashunda House's philosophy of education, attendance policy, grading scale, homework policy, dress code, classroom rules, and consequences. It emphasizes working together as a team between parents and teachers to help children succeed.

2. My Philosophy of Education
• I believe that every child is capable of learning.
• I believe that every child is capable of receiving an education.
• As a teacher, I would make sure that I prepare myself to ensure that every
child learn; and I know that every child will not be on the same paste but I
will ensure that they install in the different strategies and methods that will
help them learn.
• I am determined to learn every child’s learning style in my classroom to help
them learn in my classroom.
3. Attendance Policy
• Come to class that’s how students learn
• Come to school on time
• Three (3) tardy equal to one (1) absentee.
• If the students miss consistently days back to back; the parents will get a call
concerning the child.
4. Grading Scale
• A = 4 *** Participate in Class
• B = 3 *** Do Homework
• C = 2 ***Complete Lessons & Activities
• D = 1
• F = 0
5. Homework
• Monday through Thursday of every week I will be sending homework home.
(it is based off the lessons/activities we do in the class)
• Each student will bring a folder to school.(the same folder is to be brought
to school everyday)
• Inside the folder; the left side will be the announcements, etc. for to keep at
home; the right side is to be return to school (homework)
6. Dress Code
• All students should wear clothes that appropriate
• All students should wear clothes that fit them
• Students clothes should cover them appropriately; shouldn’t nothing be
showing unappropriately

• Everyone in the classroom are Friends…
• Walk, Do Not Run
• Keep Your Hands to Yourself
• Stay behind your Friend (when you are in line)
• No Hitting, No Fighting your Friends
