Good Morning RainesRockets! I am looking
forward to an awesomeyear with you all. In
this class, we willlearn so muchabout Science
and Social Studies so I hope thatyou have
come prepared
to learn allthatyou can!
My name is Ms. Shakia Norman, and I am so excited to be your
teacher this year! We are going to do so many FUN things, and of
course we will learn a lot. I hope that you had a fabulous summer,
and I can’t wait to hear all about it. I was so excited to meet you all on
the first day of school which seemed like forever. Anyways, I am a
Jackson State University graduate and this is my FIRST year teaching
and I am more than excited! I enjoy spending time with my puppy
Kimmie and reading Junie B. Jones books. My favorite colors are
PINK
and YELLOW! I kids so much and that’s exactly why I’m
here!
1st Period:7:45am-9:30am
(Homeroom)
2nd Period:9:30am-11:00am
3rd Period:11:00am-2:15pm
You will go to specials on Tuesday’s-
Thursday’s!
School starts promptly at 7:45am whenthe bell rings. If
YOU arrive to school after 7:45am, you should be issued
a TARDY SLIPbefore you enterthe classroom.
Lunchfor ALL JPS studentsis FREE!
Breakfast at Raines Elementarystarts at7:05am and ends
at 7:30am.
ALL studentsthateat breakfast after 7:30am willbe
issued a BREAKFAST PASS.
Lunch is for 20 minutesonly with
restroom afterwards.
Allstudentsare issuedan Interactive Notebookat
thebeginningofthe year.Insideofthis notebookwill
include:
• Behavior Chart
• ClassworkforELA,Math,and Science/S.S.
• Homework
• Informationfor parents
Progress reports will be issued during the half of
the nine weeks and will be sent home by the
homeroom teacher. The student will also take
home any other necessary forms needing signed
by the parent during that time.
Report cards will be issued every nine
weeks and will be available during
Parent/Teacher Conference and must be
signed and returned.
• Keepall hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
• Raise your handand waityour turn.
• Do not get up with outpermission.
