 A Wedge Barricade is a kind of retractable barrier, shaped like a wedge or
flap, that is level with the road surface until it automatically rises out of
the ground to physically block all traffic from passing through.

5. Working
The whole system consists of Barricade, Electric Motor, Shafts, ECU and
Sensors.
The Barricade is made up of high strength steel to provide better crash ratings.
The motor is fitted underground to raise and lower the barricade.
The Sensors are attached in front of the barricades to detect the presence of
incoming vehicles
When any vehicle approaches, the sensors send information to ECU
The ECU controls the operations of Motor used for raising and lowering the
Barricade
They pivot from the surface of the pavement, forming a wedge shape to block
the flow of traffic. This blocking plate, gets raised and lowered by electric
systems and is done in a matter of seconds.
