2. DUAL LATERLOG
Dual laterlog is used to measure the resistivity of sub-surface rocks formation
It is two of types
1- LLD
2-LLS
In this presentation we discus about the 2nd type of laterlog which is
LLS(Laterlog shallow)
3. LLS-Laterlog Shallow
• LLS is used to measure the resistivity of sub-surface rocks at shallow depth
with electrodes spacing of 16 inch
4. Principal
• Idealized current distribution from device to homogeneous formation,
with current focused into the formation
6. Scale
• The scale of LLS is 0.2-40,000 ohm and electrodes spacing 16 inch
7. Applications
I. Salt water bearing and hydrocarbon bearing
II. Determine true formation resistivity
III. Water saturation calculation
IV.Estimate invasion diameter
V. Indicate movable hydrocarbon
VI.Correlation of formation
VII.Find depth of three zones
8. Limitations
I. Not pass from saline water
II. Prohibited from thick bed of mud
III. Uncased
IV.Not work with steel
V. Centralization is required
