1. Target Audience and genre
The target audience of this magazine would
be for teenagers and maybe some young
adults because of the colour palette of reds
and yellows and because the price of this
magazine is quite cheap. The genre is rock; it
is noticeable because there is a box saying
‘THE A TO Z OF EMO’ and usually those
types of people listen to rock music.
Main Image
The main image is the lead singer of Panic!
At The Disco. It shows him in a particular
stance which is not quiet intimidating but
also not calm. The uses of the dogs are
almost symbolic as they ‘bite back’ and he
has quite vicious looking dogs.
Model credit
The model credit would be the main cover
line which is the Panic! At The Disco article.
Main Cover Line
This is the same as model credit. It is of the
lead singer of the band Panic! At The Disco.
It is to show the audience what the main
focus of this issue of the magazine will be
about, and who will be the feature of the
magazine.
Masthead
The masthead is the word KERRANG! The front seems to
be a bright and bold yellow colour and the font appears to
be in capitals. The word itself is an onomatopoeic word as
it sounds like an electric guitar. In the masthead, the word
appears to have lines over it to suggest the loud music has
cracked and broken the word.
The Gutenberg Design Principle
The audience will first be drawn to the main title which is
the Panic! At The Disco title. The audience’s attention will
then be shifted towards the cover line and then to the
posters and then to the barcode.
Colours/Typefaces/House style
The house style of this different
Kerrang1 magazine is very similar
As the font is the same and the main
Person/band is on the front cover.
Coverlines
The cover lines of this magazine are the Of Mice and Men in
the studio and the 6 amazing posters to show to audience
what is included within this magazine.
Banners/Flashes/badges
The banner/badge on this issue is the Metallica circle in
the top right corner. The banner would be the strip of
yellow across the top of the magazine. This gives the
audience an idea of what will be included within this
issue.
