1. The Last House On The Left
Rouge pictures slowly shown with screechy music. it looks like it is being draw on the computer each line end is being slowly drawn out to reveal the words. The music or soundtrack in the back ground is slowly paced and screechy. The first shot is a MCU of the tree leg camera dollies through the woods in the night time slowly and in time with the music. To a medium shot to a car driving then the music abruptly stops when we reach the road and the car . Close up of a picture of two little blonde girls. With a man talking about a joke. Next shot is a medium close up of a brown haired man with serious face. It is very dark so his features are quite blurry. He has a moustache and beard and his shirt is unbuttoned at the top. He is sitting right in the middle of the seats and the back of the car and seems very fidgety looking around and out the back window. The men in the front talking are both in shirts and ties middle aged. We don’t know the relationship between the three men until the dark haired man in the back asks to “take a piss” and it cuts from a medium close up from the dark hair man to a medium shot of the older man in the passenger seat saying “fuck you” though metal guard we then understand that he is a criminal in custody. It cuts back to the dark haired man this time a medium shot of him through the metal guard. What he is in trouble for we don’t know but he is heading towards and big notorious prison.
They pull to a train crossing. The BCU of the two red flashing flight intensifies the atmosphere and we realise something is about to happen. The train passes and there are few different cuts for different angles. This is to get a sense of where the car is how far away from the crossing it is and to just generally show the position of the characters. This also creates tension as we are waiting for something to happen. Then the dark haired man in the back starts to “pray” then BOOM! They get hit side on by a range rover of some sort. This was obviously a planned attack this would be why the dark haired man was fidgeting about he was waiting for his “mates” to ambush them.
Green Street.
It starts with a blurry shot it look like it night time with a few lights maybe a pair of headlights. It then gets clear and we see it’s a shot of a train station it cutes to a shot of the top of the train station stair. We can hear singing but we can’t see anyone singing its getting closer until eventually we see the head jogging up the stairs and the voices coming from their mouths. They just seem like a group of football fans waiting for a train, harmless. Until they spot the other group of lads on the opposite platform from the over the shoulder shot we are introduced to them and from the first shot of them we can tell there is going to be trouble. The camera is not cutting to and from each gang (shot reverse shot) as there insulting each other. The camera is also jerking and shaking it seems to be a handheld camera which gives the effect that we are actually there or looking over one of the lads shoulders.in the altercation between the two gangs the shot sizes don’t really differ LS to see the gangs and MS when the head of the gang is talking. So we can see what they are saying and the emotions they are pportraying when they do say it. The altercation get more vilonet swearing and shouting between both gangs not just the leaders now. The only thing separating them is a train line. This is intense will one gang dare to come over to the other side? Would they be stupid enough to run across the rail? Or will they just get on the next train that comes all mouth? As a member of the audience all these questions run through your mind. The train come and just when you think the gang will just get on the train it cuts to a MLS of the main man in the beige Mac coat head butting someone on a phone box. It then cuts the a LS of both gangs beating each other up the CU’s and the MCU’s of the fighting and the fast cutting and upbeat music get the audiences heart racing and even thinking they are part of the fight themselves. The plain black screen until the picture perfect lake and bridge id juxtaposed with the scene before appears on our screen.
