A teaching resource I created for an assessment for university. It lists all the main movements of the lower limb (hip joint, leg/knee and leg/foot), the muscles associated with each movement and any other relevant information. At the end is a table summarizing all the information in depth, including origin and insertion. Included within the presentation are pictures of every movement and muscle involved, as well as links to useful resources such as a 3D anatomy model.

Vaccines have a successful history in eliminating or significantly decreasing the incidence of dangerous diseases. Vaccines prime your immune system to recognize and combat infections. Vaccines work by teaching your body to recognize specific dangerous pathogens, so your immune system is prepared to fight off that infection.

The connection between genetics and kidney disease lies in the role of inherited genetic factors that can increase the risk of developing various kidney diseases. Certain kidney diseases, such as Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and Alport Syndrome, have a clear genetic component where mutations in specific genes contribute to the development of these conditions. Understanding these genetic basis is vital for assessing the risk of kidney disease in individuals with family history and for advancing personalized medicine approaches in prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Genetic testing plays a significant role in identifying these predispositions and guiding healthcare strategies.
