This document provides a summary of chapters 1-4 in the Gospel of Matthew. It discusses key points about Jesus' genealogy tracing his lineage back to Abraham and David, and why women are included. It notes that Jesus came to save people from their sins as the promised king. When Jesus was born, Herod tried to kill him but God protected the holy family. John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus. Jesus was baptized to fulfill all righteousness and identify with sinners. He was then tempted by Satan regarding human needs but relied on God's word. Jesus began his ministry in Galilee, preaching repentance and that the kingdom of heaven is near. His disciples were called to follow him.
