struggle seems to appear most in the story? This thought process will help you to find the
“without a doubt, undeniable” antagonist. Then be able to support your decision by citing
specific instances in the novel where your antagonist appears to be particularly problematic
for your protagonist.
2. Paragraph 1
A true antagonist in this story is Piper. She is always finding a way into trouble and somehow she is able to
get out with no punishment every time! From her being rude to starting a shady business to clean shirts by
prisoners! Can you believe this girl? Going around and causing everyone’s life to be a miserable heck! The
top three reasons Piper is undoubtedly the antagonist is that she is always being rude (in all the scenes) but
especially rude when she calls Natile retarded and keeps asking Moose the main character if she is she is
persistent to the question and does not stop even when Moose explodes. Piper is the rival in many parts
when she tries to convince the “team” to try a risky move and meet Mrs. Capone. How is this little devil
not the antagonist?
*When Piper starts the shirts
business it is all her idea. She does
not even let any of her friends have
a choice if they want to help or not,
she just throws the clothes in their
laundry bags.
* When Piper tries to meet Al
Capone’s mama and her son Al
Capone she drags all her friends to
the boat that she is on and in the
end they just wasted their time and
one kid even got yelled at!
*When Piper asks about Natalie’s
age

* When Piper takes and keeps all
the money for herself
