Slide 2: Hello and Welcome to my Ignite talk, my name is Ryan Montgomery, and today I will be presenting on the element. This is obviously not your first Ignite presentation, in fact, this is the 10th time you will be going thru this so let's get started.
Slide 3: So to go more in-depth on what I'm doing I will be explaining the mission statement and describing each part of it, I will also be telling you some of my hobbies along with my element, and be answering some questions at the end
Slide 4: Our missions statement is “ to empowering learners as they pursue passions, collaborate to solve real-world problems, and practice leadership in their community.” To me, this is basically what new tech students drive to be.
Slide 5: Pursuing passions helps you Learn new things about different passions and other people's passion, It gives you something that you and other people can relate to for example karate, me and Anekah both go to the same studio so that's something that we both enjoy and can both relate to as a hobby
Slide 6: Collaboration is the most important thing when it comes to certain activities, something that collaboration can help with is can raise people motivation level by talking thru the project, and it makes you and other peers more responsible by assigning mini-projects to certain group members.
Slide 7: Solving real-world problems can impact a lot of things one of the most common things are, Communities. Their many different ways to help your community, you could help make a garden or start planting vegetables, the simplest things could lead to some big things. An example of this was the Global Issue Summit

Slide 8: Practicing leadership, To be a leader is to be the responsible one in the group, Being the leader means you have to do more work than other people. But you also get to oversee how the project is going and change things that you nessicerily like
Slide 9: Something that I think ties all this together is The Day, The Day covers most of the things I have listed but the three most important, practicing leadership in the communities, Helps the community, and you're just helping out and making new tech look good.
Slide 10: Now let's get to the point of this presentation, what is an element, An element is what you enjoy doing in your free time, It also is something that you are good at, Can also be something that you and your friends can share
Slide 11: My element is karate, I have been doing karate ever since I was 4, a struggle was Since I've moved around a lot I've had to restart the whole process from purple back to white
Slide 12: If you don't really know me that well you will know that one of my other hobbies is to play video games, what I usually play is Super Smash Brothers, I am apart of the Smash club.
Slide 13: Another thing I love doing is spending time with my friends, This picture was taken at New techs day out with Alvin, Calvin, Andrea, and Shishir. It's really good to have friends that you can rely on, and talking with friends can help calm you down.
Slide 14: Now if you haven't noticed this it's either because you think I'm annoying or you have paid no attention to me whatsoever but I enjoy being humorous, I Like it when I am able to make people laugh and smile at probably the dumbest joke ever.
Slide 15: Another thing I love to is biking, biking has been one of my favorite things to do ever since I learned how to, Learned later than most people, one of my favorite things to when I'm bored, and it’s also a great mode of transportation to go see friends.
Slide 16: I honestly don't have to explain why Spending time with your family is important, in order from left to right my Mom, Andrew, Connor, Matt(my stepdad), tad, and me.
Slide 17: This may come as a surprise but, I love Hiking, its fun and enjoyable, and as an added bonus you have the ability to appreciate nature and spend time with your friends.
Slide 18: Why is finding your Element important? I think that without an element your life will be pretty boring cause you won't have something that you enjoy, and you enjoy doing with your friends doing. How did you start the journey to find your Element? I just started karate and since then its become an important thing in my life.
Slide 19: What changed throughout your journey? I am currently a second-degree black belt, and just getting there took me 6 years so honestly I get really excited every test for a new belt.
Slide 20: What are the next steps on your journey? Hopefully, I can become a 3rd-degree black belt before high school ends. This year I developed/discovered this about my (possible) Element by this goes along with any element that work is required for every single.
Slide 21: I would like to thank you for your time with me as I shared all my passions and my element with you. I hope you have learned something from this and hopefully know how this year has embodied the mission statement
