2. Dear Parents
Your daughter’s class is currently doing a
project on wildlife. For this reason, we have
arranged a trip for next week to the wildlife
park at Willerton. We will travel to Willerton
on the bus school. However, there will be a
small charge of £ 10, including transport and
entry to the park (usually £ 4).
Please sign this form and return it to the
school.
Yours,
Mr Taylor
3. The world famous rock band, The Spiders,
arrived in London yesterday for the first of six
concerts in Britain. After the concert in the
capital, which takes place tomorrow, the
Spiders will visit five other British cities,
finishing their tour in Glasglow. Tickets are
selling fast so if you want to see them, you’ll
need to hurry. Tickets are only available
online and cost £ 50. See page 25 for details.
4. Oakwood Film Studios
Oakwood Film Studios is a great place for a family day out.
The studios are in Brampton- convenient for people
travelling by bus, rail or car.
Oakwood is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day except 25th
December. It is great fun at all times and it’s particularly
popular in the summer months.
Tours of the studio start every half hour from 9:30 in the
morning and last for 90 minutes. After the tour you can visit
the film museum and meet some of the actors who work at
Oakwood.
When you are hungry, why not enjoy a meal at the studio
restaurant ? Or, if you prefer, there’s a beautiful picnic area.
All this for just £ 15 person, or £30 for a family.
What are you waiting for ? Visit us now!
5. The only information I can give for this Monday’s
film club is that will not be held in the seminar room
as usual because there are too many people. Instead
I’m going to use the projector in the meeting room.
Let me know if you are coming so I can have chairs
for everyone. You won’t want to stand because the
film is 3 hours! E-mail me or send me a text.
PS As it’s surprise night I can’t tell you the name of
the film, but it will be a comedy with some well
known actors.
See you there.
Sarah
6. A new leisure center is going to open in
Greenham next Thursday. The mayor will be
at the opening to make a speech before it is
open to the public. Building began 2 years ago
and finished last month, the work taking
longer than the expected because of financial
problems.
The center will have a pool, a gym and
various sports facilities. Membership will be
free for local residents but not the sport
facilities; there will be a charge to use them.
7. Hi Dave,
Your holiday of a lifetime plan for next year
sounds interesting. Australia is a good place
to be - we love living here. The best time to
come is June. It’s not too hot or too cold. The
weather is wet in January - so don’t come
then. Hotels are fairly expensive here in
Queensland, depending on the season, but
don’t worry. You can stay with us, and my
cousin says you can stay with her in
Melbourne.
Keep in touch.
Jim
