3. Type 5:
Unhealthy
Relationships
Type 5 relates to others in a neurotic and
unproductive way, when:
They are not present for their
interactions with others.
They imitate a certain pose or
demeanour to blend in.
They detach emotionally from others, by
focusing their minds a certain way.
4. Type 5:
Signs of
Stress
When Type 5 feels that life is not going as
planned, in times of stress or uncertainty, they
will:
Can respond to their self-imposed isolation by
impulsively throwing themselves into activities.
Find it hard to focus on their previous interests
or projects, instead darting from activity to
activity and from idea to idea.
Immerse themselves in potentially harmful
pleasurable pursuits, like movies, drink and
drug binges and sexual adventures.
5. Type 5: Signs of Growth
When a Type 5 has made a conscious decision to leave behind the
unhelpful aspects of their personality and to deepen their self-awareness
through mindfulness practices, they:
Change from being a detached avoider to someone that is socially
comfortable and assertive about their real needs.
Move from someone that miserably protects their limited resources to an
individual motivated to interact with the world to claim more resources as
needed.
6. Type 5: Self-Care Signs
A Type 5 needs to plan some Self-Care,
when:
They withdraw physically and mentally
into isolation.
They start to analyse personal
problems with mental concepts and
scientific frameworks.
7. Type 5: Self-
Care &
Mindfulness
Exercises
Meditate 5 weekday mornings per week for 5 mins.
Meditation or mind training, is the only way we can
permanently change our ability to regulate our
emotions, without external help.
Do a course in assertiveness.
Do a meditation retreat that teaches how to detach
mentally as well as being open to emotions and
feelings.
Accept that your upbringing has given you an aversion
to noisy environments and people demanding of your
time.
Be Spontaneous- book a flight to a foreign destination
without making any other plans.
Let self be seen in public- sit with uncomfortable self-
awareness.
