Learnt that pleasing parents or
carers was the way to receive
approval and love
Felt that the way to be loved was
to repress their own needs and
satisfy needs of others
Felt love and approval was
something to be earned- give to
get.
7. Type 2: Result of Imbalanced Personality
Will deny own needs and develop an egotistical
and false pride around being ‘selfless’.
Will manipulate others with giving, to get
emotional needs and expectations met.
The selfless giver eventually becomes resentful
and angry when level of approval isn’t sufficient.
