Decomposers of animals
1. DECOMPOSERS OF ANIMALS
Scavengers are also playing a part in the action of decomposing animals. They are actually animals that find dead animals and eat them. In the process of eating them, these animals are broken down into small bits. Examples are flies, wasps and cockroaches. You might ask what has this got to do but actually, once these scavengers are done, they are taken over by decomposers. Some decomposers are microscopic-like bacteria- while others like fungi can be seen. (79)
The purpose of decomposers in the earth is to eat the leftover parts of the ecosystem that other animals cannot eat. They are very important as if they were not present, plants would not get all the important nutrients and all the dead matter and waste in the world would pile up until there is no more space left for any other living thing. They also return nutrients back to the soil, by recycling the nutrients, making it more fertile.
