automation, and liquid sucrose refining. Successfully led groups of up to 200 in times of
transformational change, start-ups, plant consolidations, and double-digit growth. Designed

plants. Led design, build, and commissioning of 9 sugar refining/packaging plants. This

VP ofEngineering – RefiningDivision 10/11-6/15
Managed $40M of CAPEX projects in North America including 5 refineries in the U.S. and 2
repack facilities in Mexico. Designed, built, and commissioned 9 plants.
Managed the design, build, and startup of the newest refinery in TN. This $5M project was
completed in 6 months from the design phase to finish product production.
Administered the closing and equipment removal of the Joplin, MO facility as the new TN
plant came on line.
Directed the Engineering group in the design, equipment fabrication, plant construction,
PLC & HMI oversight, also assisted in startup and training of the PA refinery employees.
During this time period, managed the closure and relocation of the NJ facility. This $10M
fully automated plant took 1.25 years to construct. Managed all permits, direction of all
consultants, and dealings with the local officials.
Led a project group to install a series of carbon columns in the PA facility. This $2M project
included all P & I D, construction and installation of the equipment, along with PLC & HMI
programming.
Led a project group to fabricate and install $2M Clarifier system in the PA facility. This also
included all P & I D, construction and Installation of all equipment, and the PLC & HMI
programming.
Worked along side VP of Quality toachieve SQF Level 3 in all refineries in less than 1 year.
2. General Manager – Refining/BlendingDivisions 6/02 – 10/11
Led all business associated with the refining and blending divisions. This included
transportation, production, invoices, budget, P&L,employees, quality, safety,and
customers. During this time period, maintained 100% retention of all management staff.
The number of employees grew from 40 to over 200 while maintaining 50% growth YOY.
Managed the tea blending operation in Juarez,Mexico and 2 warehouses in ElPaso, TX.
First year of business produced 40M pounds of instant tea, making CSC the 3rd largest
instant tea producer in the US. Also led the design, building, staffing and training of all
managers in 5 new facilitiesin the U.S.
Successfully completed multiple multi-million dollar projects in Mexico ($4M),New Jersey
($14M),Chicago ($5M),TN ($5M), and TX ($5M). Led research effortsto reduce the cost to
decolorize the liquid sucrose. These effortsled to a 60% reduction in carbon cost, which
was our largest expense.
Led project team through a company wide automation initiative for all facilities. This
included all PLC/HMI programming, specifying I/O, sensors, VFD’s, and data logging forKPI
and process control.
Successful innovations in the industry include: Continuous Melter, inline UV treatment for
sucrose, the use of plate & frame filter presses for sucrose and MIS, and sub-micron filtering
prior to loading.
ManagerforCaribbeanDist. 6/01 – 6/02
Managed Packing and ship loading of sugar frombulk rail car into 50 Kg bags for export at
the Port of Beaumont. Daily capacity of the repack facility was 20,000 bags/day. Design,
built, installed, and oversaw bagging equipment and operation in Port o Prince,Haiti
achieving production rates was 1800 bags/Hr.

Responsible forall CAPEX projects in all 6 US facilities. In charge of 3 major plant closings.
Including consolidating and relocating the equipment and personnel to existing facilities.

Managed 2 plants (CA, TN). This included P&L,production, quality, safety, and deliveries of
the finished product. Successfully interfaced withcustomers and sales to regain and rebuild
confidencein the plants and management team.

Managed all CAPEX projects,managed maintenance department of 5 employees and the PM
program. Supported production and successfully designed many large size mills, packaging
lines, pneumatic conveyingsystems and silos.
