Technician IV 12/2014 to Present
An Equipment Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for providing installation, diagnosis, repair and preventivemaintenance
for manufacturing equipment and associated process supply systems. TheTechnician IV is expected to regularly interact with
engineering staff in bringing about systems improvements. This will be done by aiding in project development and delegation of
project duties to junior maintenance staff. The Technician IV also works closely with Operations staff in recognizing priorities.
Through proper maintenance the technician helps to improve overall effectiveness of equipment and to meet theBusiness Unit
goals. To accomplish this requires skills and knowledge in related technical areas which may include, but are not limited to the
following: mechanical, electrical, electronic, control systems, programmable logic controls, pneumatics, vacuum technology and
SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge.
1. Utilize technical skills to install, modify, assemble and maintain equipment and associated process supply systems.
2. Accomplish tasks by effectively connecting, routing and assembling internal/external systems &components. Including but not
limited: gearboxes, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, programmable logic controls and chemical.
3. Analyzeequipment or systemto determine malfunction. Decide on proper repair action. Completes repairs by removing, repairing
and replacing all necessary components of theequipment or system. Discuss findings with area operators, leadership, engineers and
other technicians as need to find immediate & long-term solutions.
4. Effectively maintains all records of repairs, calibrations, tests, preventativemaintenance, spare parts and procedures.
5. Achieve certification of basic proficiency for equipment in assigned areas of responsibility. Continuously improveknowledge and
skills.
6. Demonstrates effective housekeeping in the area of work and shop. Observes all safety rules and regulations.
7. Participates in and completes training as prescribed by corporaterequirements and the immediate leadership.
8. Assists in the training of other technicians, cell leaders, and Technical Operators.
