Focused effective and versatile Project Manager with a background in Naval Engineering and a proven

CAREER HISTORY
2014 - Present Project Manager Operating Documentation BAE Systems
Responsible to the Senior Project Manager for the production of Operating Documentation. In my role I
represent the business as the subject matter expert in this field and manage a team of colleagues and
Sub-contractors in producing configured procedural documentation and technical diagrams. I am
responsible for program, policy, process development and integration across two busy production
programs. My daily responsibilities include the engagement of stakeholders including industrial partners
in order to resolve contractual and program issues. I Co-chair the monthly Ministry of Defense meeting to
report progress and raise and sentence issues and risks.
2010 - 2014 Project Leader BAE Systems
I was accountable to the Project Manager for the production of Operating Documentation and its
subsequent amendment, validation and verification. As part of the safety and quality assurance process I
was responsible to the head of safety and design assurance for documentation which my team produce in
order to operate all the systems onboard the latest nuclear submarine. I wrote the process and policy for
its generation and approval and I was responsible for chairing the committee which resolves issues and
endorses its distribution. I worked alongside the Ministry of Defence, liaising with Engineering, Design
Authority, Safety and external contractors, to resolve issues and produce configured documentation to a
program. When required I acted as a technical author constructing documentation from source
information. I was responsible to the Project manager for programming of work packages with the goal of
delivering on time, on budget and to quality goals specified by the customer in support of company
milestones. I worked within Integrated Logistical Support which is responsible for maintenance, Logistical
Support Analysis, spares, codification and configuration. Within these areas my intimate knowledge of
the product provides invaluable support.
1998 - 2010 Leading Marine Engineering Mechanic (Submariner). Royal Navy
I worked on nuclear submarines for 12 years in the Royal Navy as an engineer at management level. For
the last 5 years of my navy career I was drafted to Barrow-in-Furness to work alongside BAE Systems to
help commission a new class of submarine into service. My day to day role involved helping set to work
high energy mechanical and electrical systems whilst reviewing the associated engineering
documentation and submitting queries/ amendments to address any product deficiencies/ defects.
My professional function within the navy included the operating and maintenance of electrical and
mechanical machinery and their associated systems in a nuclear steam raising plant powered engine
room within a radiologically controlled environment as dictated by the role I was qualified Cat D nuclear
Watchkeeper and Diesel Room Watchkeeper.
In order for me to conduct my day to work I was required to have a working knowledge of COSHH, risk
assessment, control of work and safe systems of work.
I carried the position of rate of Leading Rate responsible directly to my management team for the welfare
and professional development of those who held a rank junior to mine. As part of this responsibility I
conducted regular on the job training and coaching for all who required it. I have been responsible for the
co-ordination of working routines and also acted as my department welfare rep and I.T rep.
PERSONAL
I am 35 years old and live in Barrow-in-furness. I am open to travel or relocate. I have a full U.K passport
and I have a full U.K driving license. I enjoy Keeping fit, reading, playing squash, cooking, films music
and playing guitar.
