2. Troubleshooting engine and power problems
before going on the road trips ensure all goes
well. Here are some things you need to know
about troubleshooting:
3. CHECK PERFORMANCE LEVELS
“Forward power" specifies the capacity of power the generator can
handle while “reflected power” indicates how much power has
been used.
4. BOTH LEVELS HAVE TO BE EQUAL
Make sure both forward power and reflected power levels are
equal and if they are not then you have to check the power supply
and add fuel.
5. CHECK POWER SUPPLY
Hold a voltmeter to the power grid and if the generator does not
provide power, it may need servicing or needs to be turned on.
6. IF THE GENERATOR IS DEAD GET A NEW ONE
After you turn on the generator and the voltmeter does not show
any available power, the generator has died and you may need a
new one.
7. CHECK THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
After you press the start button and the engine does not start,
check the electrical connection using a voltmeter with a diode
check function.
8. ENGINE FAILURES AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS
Check the reading of the voltmeter after it is plugged into the
control board. If it reports violence, there may be a big electrical
problem or engine failure.
