Mechanical Technician
Mechanical Technician for Petrofac on CNR's Ninian Central Platform in the Northern North
Sea.
Maintenance & routine servicing of mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors,
turbines, valves, gearboxes, pipe work, filters, tanks, pressure vessels & water-makers.
Inspection of relevant devices including rotating equipment, valves, pipe work & flanges.
Bolt torqueing and tensioning.
All work has to be categorized, prepared, implemented & finally recorded.
Raising Permits & Work Orders with ISSOW & Maximo.
Conduct isolations (spading/de-spading) to conform to Safe System of Work
Tidiness and cleanliness of worksite conditions.
The Maintenance Team also operates the platforms Water, Diesel & Air systems.

Firstly as a Mechanical Fitter & later adapted my role & converted to a Production

The six month contract was extended & eventually I was given a permanent full-time
contract with ICI.
