Overview:
Set-up and grew my small specialist events company, to a multi-divisional business with specialist corporate events, mobile bars,
and outdoor events divisions, and the largest Christmas Party company in the south west. (Sold in 2014)
Key Responsibilities:
 Marketing and sales of events and event products, to corporate and private clients, for up to 1500 guests, and budgets
in excess of £150k.
 Managing all marketing and advertising, including the design of ads, editorial copywriting, and web site content.
 Logistics and operations management and planning, and developing operational procedures for the implementation of
our events and services across multiple simultaneous sites.
 Staff recruitment, training, and development of supervisors, management and sales staff
 Design and set-up of sales and office administration procedures (including stock control, databases, accounting and
record keeping procedures, H&S and legal compliance)
 Event management from the build stages, right through to the safe and successful operation of the events.
 Financial projections and cost strategy, and ongoing financial analysis.
 Supplier negotiations and contractor management
Key Achievements:
 The growth of the business’s range of products, from its first individual entertainment product concepts, to become a large
scale event production company, as well as a supplier of a range of event hire equipment and entertainments.
 Building the business to an operational level where we could effectively operate up to 6 simultaneous events in different
locations, and to achieve a peak of 156 events in one year alone.
 Building the Christmas Party company division from a one location business, to simultaneously running 3 separate large
venues across 2 cities, managing over 100 staff, and serving nearly 9000 guests, over 12 nights to achieve a turnover in
excess of £650k, becoming the largest Christmas Party Company in the South West.
 Successfully securing and running the ‘Everything Everywhere’ National Conference and Christmas Party, with 1500 guests
for both separate daytime and evening events, and with high catering demands and turnaround time.
