2. My idea
What is my idea?
My idea is to make a short horror found footage film, it is going
to be similar to other well known horror films such as Blair
witch project and paranormal activity, I want my film to use the
same unique yet effective filming technique which is to have it
be mostly improvised, it is very hard to nail and look believable
but if its pulled off it can be one of the most authentic
performances you can get if you film something in the moment
rather than have scenes or lines seemed forced from the take
after take tedium of fixing mistakes through character breaking,
with the improv style the actors and/or actresses will not be
playing a character but their personalities and how they act are
the character, being filmed in the moment, looking and
sounding as authentic as possible
Why am I doing this type of horror for my project?
I’m doing this for my project because found footage horrors go
widely unused in the media industry whether its tv or film media
and based on my audience research not many people know about
many found footage horror movies aside from Blair witch project, it
is a unique and almost untouched horror sub-genre. Using an
almost untouched type of horror makes my film look as unique and
well thought out as possible, it also gives story writing more depth
as there aren’t many films like this to use as a template meaning
the writing for this film will be new and whilst similar to other
found footage horrors will do its own thing and go into a different
direction
3. My idea-

How is this related to Sunderland
culture?
My idea is to make a film that’s written, produced and
directed in Sunderland, this will show that filmmakers from
Sunderland can make and produce great films/shows, that
will show that Sunderland does have culture with the
aspiring filmmakers that come from Sunderland and these
movies can bring more culture into Sunderland by inspiring
others into going into the media industry that will become
successful people in media that come from Sunderland

needed or any screen effects
6. Budget continued
For the wardrobe we need to uses disposable t-shirts
to use the fake blood as to not ruin the actor/actress’s
own clothes for my film, the t-shirts for a basic solid
colour t-shirt would be £4 and we’d need a couple per
actor/actress so it would come in at £28, the mask
needed for this film would cost between £10-£20
The props like the prop retractable knives and the fake
blood will of course added to the budget I will need a few
bottles of fake blood due to the several takes that may
need doing, a few of the retractable knives will have to be
purchased in the event one or two breaks, the fake blood
will cost £2-£4 so it will cost between £6-£12 for the fake
blood and the prop knives will cost £14 for 4 of them in
case we need extra or suffer the breakage of a couple
In total the budget for this
film would between £550
and £600
