2. OUTSIDE COVER
Three out of the four
outside cover panels
show the Wembley
Arena before the show
had started. It illustrates
and promotes that they
are a live band who go to
venues all over the
country. The hand
decoration is very limited
which is a convention of
rock music.
The barcode is
placed on the
back of the
outside cover
to prevent it
ruining the
aesthetics of
the whole
cover.
However it is
large enough
for the user to
see it easily
when
purchasing it.
The track
list is in the
form of a
piece of
paper with
pen writing
on it to
make it
seem as if
it has been
written by
the band
members
themselves
making it
more
realistic for
the user.
The spine of the this
digipak has the
bands name down it
reminding the user
of who the band are
and what the album
is called. This is
popular convention
of most music
genres.
The band are not on
the front cover, this
shows them to be
authentic and
making them seem
like it is all about the
music and not there
The lighting
on the
cover
emphasis
the band
logo and
their band
identity.
The
lightening
is harsh
because it
emphasize
s that he
band is the
main
attraction
to the
audience
and
The hand written/ signed
signatures on the digipak.
This was only on a limited
number of copies of the
album making the
audience want to buy the
album quickly.
The roman numerals in the
central of the stage are
used as sign of power that
they have over the
audience.
The lexis on
‘Wembley’ and
‘Arena’ acts as buzz
words to emphasis
where their headline
performance will be.
The use of the word
‘sin’ directly targets
the rock genre as
that is a typical
convention of that
genre.
3. INSIDE COVER
The inside image spreads across the
entire inside of the cover showing the
venue and the audience at a live concert.
This suggests that the band themselves
are very popular and well known. It is
very common to advertise this fact for the
band as it will not only show people how
that are a popular band.
There are lots of camera
flashes in the far of the
image showing how fans
want to see them and
remember the concert buy
taking photos of the venue.
The brightness of the
flashes show how many
people are actually there.
They are playing at Wembley arena which
would be considered a big even for the band
to perform at. This is because Wembley is
one of the iconic places to perform music. By
doing this, it sticks to the conventions of a
digipak as they are advertising the band and
trying to show them as popular and that the
listener will enjoy the music that they play.
People on the crowd are pulling
the ‘rock symbol’ which is closely
related to the genre of music and
is common convention of the rock
genre.
From this is has conations of
being dangerous and violent . Due
to this being such a strong
conation of the genre, it
demonstrates the string
relationship between the band
and the genre of music that they
The amount of people in the
crowd is complete contradiction
to the empty venue that is shown
on the front cover of the album.
The contradiction works will for
the digipak as it could suggest
how they wouldn’t be there and
never have make it without the
help and support of their fans.
Included in this digipak are 2CD’s, a booklet and a
DVD of the concert which includes images from the
concert. This means that it offers extra content to
people who buy the digipaks which is something
which is commonly done with digipaks to
encourage people to purchase it.
The 2 CD’s give the buyer more of the bands songs
which is something that they will want to get if they
are a big fan of the band. The DVD allows them to
experience the concert in their own homes if they
didn't’t see it or if they did it allows them to
reminisce over it. All of these are common
conventions of a digipak as it encourages the
people to buy it due to the extra content that it
