Employment History
October 2013 – Gas Planner at Mears Limited, Wardley
September 2014 My previous position was at Mears Ltd., under a gas contract called
Carillion, who carry out yearly annual services and repairs to private
properties. During this role, my responsibilities involved receiving lists of
services and breakdowns that were booked out to the engineers. My
workload involved ensuring that all of the work was carried out to a high
standard and the tenant was happy with the work completed. Other
responsibilities involved processing the communications from an
engineer’s visit including recalls and cancellations, using the local system
alongside MS Word & excel. This lead to planning the servicing & repairs
and included any emergency movement across the Northwest, Southern
England and Wales. The role entailed following strict procedures, in a
repetitive manner, highlighting my self-motivation. Other skills expressed
in this role were; good time management, working as a team member but
also individually dependent upon certain tasks.
September 2011 – Cleaning Operative at Essential Hygiene
June 2013 My work as a temporary cleaning operative occurred throughout the
college holidays. My workload entailed cleaning client offices and
restrooms. Responsibilities included following Health & Safety regulations
within the workplace to ensure the safety of staff, and following employer
COSHH & PPE, due to the handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.
Additional Experience
From the age of 17 I applied to join the Royal Navy to be a Seaman specialist, which involved
frequent training to complete a variety of aptitude tests. This illustrated that I am a dedicated
and highly determined young adult who can progress towards career goals through my ambition
and eagerness to succeed. During September 2014 I took part in a Pre Royal Navy Course
(PRNC), where I was sent to Scotland for a week, to participate in constant mental/fitness
regimes. This involved an enormous amount of dedication and commitment, due to the intense
and frequent training schedule imposed. This required personal motivation and determination to
be successful in all trial examinations, which were all passed, allowing me to receive a place in
the Royal Navy, which is now left open if I wish to proceed down this career path.
August 2013 – Admin Assistant at Morson International (Voluntary Work)
October 2013 My volunteer work at Morson International was in the Fleet Management
Department (monitoring company cars) allowing me to gain working
knowledge and experience within an office environment. My duties
included inputting data on Excel spread sheets; managing work including
vehicle registration numbers, uniform and equipment. All details needed
to be entered accurately to help calculate the cost and make sure all
items were charged at the right price. Restricted access was obtained to
ensure all vehicle details had been input correctly onto the database.
Other responsibilities included having to meet deadlines and being
responsible for my own time management.
Interests & Hobbies
I am a very fit and healthy person and therefore enjoy taking part in various sporting activities. I
am a member of my local gym and swimming club, which allows me to interact with a variety of
age groups. I recently took part in the ‘Swimathon’, helping to raise Worsley Swimming Club
over £1,500, highlighting my determination, self motivation and willingness to help others.
Running is one of my main hobbies, which has been thoroughly tested during my naval training,
indicating my dedication and commitment to progress.
