2. INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS CONTINUOUS TUFTING FRAME (CTF).?
A Tufting Frame on which we made long length
carpet without any sort of difficulties. CTF is a
machine on which tracing of design, tufting and
latexing with secondary backing is done in a
single stage. Hence this tufting frame is used for
high production of long length carpet as it
eliminates the extra time consumed in change
processes.
3. CONVENTIONAL TUFTING
Conventionally rectangular tufting frames are
used for holding the cloth on which pile yarn
tufts are inserted. The design is traced on the
tufting cloth. After tufting latexing with
secondary and third backing is done.
The process is distinctly discontinuous and not
suitable for long length of carpet, that is for
hotel, alley and airport, etc.
7. ADVANTAGES
• ANY REQUIRED LENGTH OF CARPET MAY BE
PRODUCED
• LESS CONSUMPTION OF LATEX AS COMPARED
TO CONVENTIONAL METHOD
• STRETCHING OF PRIMARY CLOTH IS WELL
MAINTAINED
• REQUIRED LESS SPACE AS THE TRACING,
TUFTING AND LATEXING ARE DONE IN A
SINGLE STAGE
8. DISADVANTAGE OF CTF
• INITIAL COST IS VERY HIGH
• ADDITIONAL DEVICE IS REQUIRED FOR
DRYING PURPOSE SUCH AS SOLAR DRYER OR
SOLAR HEATER ETC.
