Ms. Dolores Torriero, Esq.
FCCSEA Assistant Director
80 E. Fulton Street
Columbus, OH 43215
Dear Ms. Torriero,
Rachel Walker has been a Legal Secretary II in the Litigation Department of the Franklin
County Child Support Enforcement Agency since March of 2003 where she is currently under the
direct supervision of Attorney II, Kyle Keener. She is a hard-working individual and performs her
job as a Legal Secretary with the utmost efficiency.
As a secretary in the Litigation Department, she has many responsibilities, which include:
preparation of Motions, Complaints, Entries for e-filing and e-filing documents: and preparation
of Correspondence; answering numerous telephone calls from attorneys, consumers, co-workers,
court personnel, and others; completing special assignments; docketing cases for court; checking
service; maintaining the attorney calendar for Kyle Keener and Cindy Coleman; and many other
tasks too numerous to mention.
Ms. Walker works well with the other employees of the Agency. She handles Agency
consumers with courtesy and patience, answering their questions and forwarding calls to the
appropriate individual when necessary.
Ms. Walker consistently volunteers to assist with Agency activities. For the past several
years, she has participated in the Empowerment Day process for the Litigation Department. She
makes sure that the obligors who come to the Day are checked in and that their information is
delivered to the attorney who then prepares paperwork for capias withdrawals.
She is always willing to take on extra responsibilities and has many good ideas for
improving Litigation Secretarial processes. She was instrumental in the development of the
Secretary Organizer on our DMS system. In addition, she also provided training to the other
secretaries on the use of the Secretary Organizer.
I recommend Rachel Walker for the FCCSEA Leadership and Innovation Group. She has
excellent skills and would gain greatly from the program. This opportunity would provide Ms.
Walker with additional skills necessary to become a leader within the agency as well as within the
community.
If you have need of further information or have questions concerning Ms. Walker’s
qualifications, please contact me at (614) 525-3888.
Very truly yours,
Melinda S. Carlson
